Y’all. I think this entry will finally catch me up on all of the things I forgot to write about when I was updating my life a couple of entries ago.
This one hit me hard because it involves me having to DO THINGS to prepare!
Over the weekend, I got a couple of texts and memes from Lis and Wen on our three-way chat. These are the ones who came to visit me over Halloween the year before last and they’ve asked me to go to Nashville a few times to visit them.
I was LOL-ing (I still don’t use that term, but it seems fitting for this subject) at one of the cute memes that was sent and one of them said, “that’s us next week!” It was some cute Valentine dancing or somesuch. I can’t even remember.
But it threw me off.
I started racking my brain thinking about past conversations we’ve had and suddenly…BOOM!
Yes, I do remember something about the girls coming out to visit. I went back through old text messages. YES. They are coming to visit THIS WEEK! 🤯
Minor panic because my place is not really guest-ready right now. But the good news is that I’ve always got that second bedroom and bathroom clean and ready for guests at any time. So there’s that. All I need to do now is scrub all of the other areas down, get some groceries and treats that they love, organize my dining table that always seems to get covered in stuff when I’m working from home, and I should be ready.
They’ll get in Thursday evening, so I have enough time to prep. We’ll prob do casual things on Thurs and Friday and then Saturday is a show at a cool venue downtown to see a band they really want to see. And then they’ll fly home Sunday morning.
I’m excited! This gives me something to look forward to and prepare for and it’s helping me have my week organized. I HAVE to get the presentation I’m working on finalized early this week. And then I’ll be good to go!
Can’t believe I’ve let so many things just slip my mind, but there’s a lot going on.
Are y’all taking the day off for Presidents Day? I can’t because I’m behind on my presentation, so I gotta go work on that now, but…
