*** A WORD OF ADVICE **** in OD

Lecturers: be kind to your students. You may well have returned to work just after the festive break and had a good week in or two recover from your wild Christmas bashes and New Years Eve raves, but Mole’s fellow students have had four solid weeks away from lectures, seminars and lab sessions and they need to be eased gently back into the rigmarole of ten hours in the classroom each week. Moreover, those universities operating semesters in the academic year need to be even more aware of this situation: exams are extremely traumatic for students at the best of times and to impose them just after Christmas contravenes the European Human Rights Act.

Amen to that last statement.
