I semi-promised you details about the crafts session. So here they are.
I went to the cinema, was told where to go and given a name badge (well, ok, a sticker with my name on it). I then had to introduce myself to the girl next to me, talk to her for 5 minutes, and then introduce her to the group. I fucking hate having to do that. And I got her name wrong (typical me).
We were then split into groups and asked to make a poster promoting the Unlimited Pass. Using pics from magazines. I basically did as little as possible to try and show my dislike for things like this. We then talked about our posters.
We then split into different groups and had to come up with a ‘customer charter’. This is where my previous cinema experience paid off. We then had to elaborate on the points we had made.
Then we had to speak for a minute about our favourite film. I chose Memento, purely for the fact that not many of them would have seen it (pity the guy who chose ‘Top Gun’). finally, they then used the security camera to take a picture of us all and that was it.
Now, please tell me cos I may well be missing the point here, but what the fuck does any of that have to do with working in a cinema? I can sort of see the point of the customer service bit, but the advertising poster? What the good, goddamned mutherfuck? Working in a cinema is all about making fucking posters, isn’t it? It would have been alright if there was a proper interview, but there was not. Oh God, I feel a rant coming on.
I find out tomorrow if I have a job. Wish me luck.
Will
