Last night I went to see the film Bowling for Columbine. You can read my review here The “cinema” where it was shown (actually a lecture theatre which can be used to show films as well) was packed. The film was supposed to start at 7:30. It was delayed because at 7:30 there were still queues outside the door.

After the film finished it got a round of applause.

And I have one thing to say about this film that I did not mention in my review.

If Michael Moore does not win Best Documentary for Bowling for Columbine at this years Oscars it will be a crime.

Whether or not you agree with the film, or indeed with Moore, there is one thing that Bowling for Columbine does that no other film this year has done. It’s got people talking. It’s started a debate.

Don’t believe me? Check out the imdb.com message board for the film

Course the campaign against Michael Moore has already begun.

So who will stick up for the film? Hopefully one of the distributers. Or the production company Dog Eat Dog films. Or the ‘liberal’ media. By this I mean the likes of alternet and the Independant Media Cantre
