Central Reservation Affiliated Press:

France shocked the world today by demanding the return of a gift made to the American people.

In a statement released earlier today, the French government said that “Due to current attitudes in America towards France’s call to give weapons inspectors more time in Iraq, the Statue of Liberty’s return is expected immediately.”

The statue, nicknamed “Lady Liberty” was a gift of international friendship from the people of France to the people of America in 1886. Former New York mayor Rudolf Guilianni, who was mayor on 9/11, stated “New York is still recovering from the last dramatic change forced on Manhattans famous skyline. Never did I expect that France would insist on another change.”

A spokesman for France’s Foreign Office, when asked where France would place the statue, commented “it would probably replace the replica of Lady Liberty on the Seine.”

George W Bush is not available for comment at this time.
