Yesterday the men stayed home and babysat, and Rachel and I spent a full day shopping. I think our husbands were perfectly happy to now have to be involved in a long shopping trip. And I really enjoyed being able to spend some quality time with my sister, something I feel like I haven’t done much of in a while.

We started with breakfast at Fazenda, which was a small struggle for me since I really like the coffee there. Rachel was unsympathetic and told me to just drink some, but I don’t drink coffee anymore and I was good about that.

We started at Legacy Place in Dedham, then went down to Patriot Place in Foxboro, then onto the outlets in Wrentham, and finally Emerald Square Mall all the way in Attleboro. Literally a whole day of shopping, we left the house at 8:30 in the morning and got home after 10 pm.

We bought a lot of gifts for the kids, things for Jayson and Guy, and even gifts for each other that we tried to do in secret.

We talked a lot. Some serious stuff like religion and homosexuality, and a lot about our lives and families. Rachel told me she wants to me a mother, after years of saying she had no interest in it. She said that she and Guy were looking into adopting. I was shocked.

I confessed to her that I no longer see myself as a nudist and am actually a bit uncomfortable with people seeing me naked.

When we got home and unpacked all the bags, she came down to our part of the house and gave me a big hug and said she just wanted me to know how much she enjoyed our day together.
