As an Energetic Law of the Universe
Outside of the religious context, Repentance doesn’t get a lot of attention. And, inside the religious context, repentance has some extremely negative connotations. Repentance, in my experience, is associated with regret, shame, guilt, and having been soiled.
Viewed from a more detached perspective, Repentance is a powerful energetic force. Like a Judo move, the first step of Repentance fully accepts and receives all the energy which is directed at one, without exception. Never is there rejection, defense, or refusal. There is no anger, indignance, offense, or even ignoring. There is full, complete acceptance received in grace held in awareness.
The second step of Repentance is to fully examine and feel all of what is received. Nothing is excepted. Nothing is rejected. This complete feeling experience yields a clarity and a decisiveness that is never present when we reject, or repel from, the offer we received. This clarity is empowering to the willpower. We then act in clarity and with a power energized by the very offer we have accepted.
The third step of Repentance is to complete the energetic flow; return the offer to whomever offered this opportunity. With the clarity and power of having fully received, examined, and felt the offer, our physical, mental, emotional and energetic bodies are charged by reception to give back to the offeror everything that was offered. It is returned in fullness and in Honor.
The energy flows without resistance and is merely redirected.
Repentance is the act of completing any circuit presented to us. Every offer is a bid for us to Accept and Return, or to enter into contract. Resistance offered is a hook by which we become ensnared.
“Do this at once, my son, and deliver yourself, For you have come into the hand of your friend: Go, humble yourself, and urge your friend. Give no sleep to your eyes, Nor slumber to your eyelids. Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hunter’s hand, and like a bird from the hand of the trapper.” Proverbs 6 verses 1 through 5, the Scriptures
A contract offer might look like a piece of mail that comes to entice you to pay for goods and services. A contract offer might look like a seductive succubus in a dream. These various offers to contract are all governed by the same laws; Natural Law, the energetic laws of this universe. The offer to contract is always made by one who is liable to settle it. The act of offering to contract is the act of accepting liability to settle.
Realizing this, was my first clue to the energetic backlash that every single offer to contract comes with. The liability to settle. This is a Law of our realm. It is as fundamental as a shadow cast by every corporeal object which has light shed upon it. What one offers to another, one must also settle in full. To come into Acceptance is a most powerful and terrifying ability. One realizes that every offer given or received comes with the shadow cast by that offer. Every creation, every idea, every dream, has a shadow cast in this world. That shadow is the cost of doing business. The law of existence in this realm is that our creations and actions have a shadow.
Cynically, one might begin to wonder if this world is not cold, harsh, and ruthless. Even cynicism is an offer that one is able to accept, to examine and feel fully, and to return if it suits one’s whole being. This is really a practice of bringing one’s own being into full alignment. It is divinely simple. Transcendent of any religious or cultural paradigms.
One may also consider the shadow cast by opportunities or offers, and wonder if paralysis is the only answer to neither make or receive offers. The incapacity to act is another extreme, which may also be accepted and fully felt to allow one’s whole being to come to the power of clarity. The power to be without doubt and to act with intent.
Repentance is such a powerful force that it has been occulted from the general consciousness. Repentance makes us nearly invincible, if we are willing to thoroughly saturate our being with this practice. If we are willing to accept everything, reject nothing, in order to come to complete clarity, then we have total power over every offer. It is a maneuver which, like Judo movements, allows a very small person to topple even the most massive fighter. And realizing this, the more massive and the more tremendous the offer or offeror, the more shattering is our Repentance.
