I am officially done my holiday shopping. It’s all sitting here in boxes and packages from Amazon.ca
The only think I am not sure I will do is wrap the gifts because the people really don’t care one way or the other. The best part is I don’t have to worry about the extended family or my parents because they have everything they want and need and if they really want it they just get it when they feel like it. And they are usually on a holiday so they are not een in town for the dinner. So every year I just need to worry about 4 people and they never want more they $100.00 max. So by the time September comes around is when I start asking for lists of what people want and try to get everything on the list because they always tell me not to spend so much but I never listen to them. They think they will get one thing and it will be the cheapest one. But Ijust get what they wrote down and give it to them. Like this year my son nneeded a new laptop so he is getting that. And hubby wanted some books and I noticed that his comforter needs replacing so he got that also. And my sisiter in law really likes the racoons so she got something to do with racoons and my brother in law wanted razors so I got him enough for a year. And what they will get me I always tell them one thing I want and they get it. I have the attitude that if you are going to go tot he trouble of making a list and it’s stuff you really want and need then why not just give it to them? Then they won’t be disappointed when you give them the cheapest one. I hate cheap people or people who don’t bother to look at the quality if what is being given. I figure it doesn’t matter how much money you have if a family memeber wants something then why not just gve it to them and then they won’t be disappointed and take it back or re-gift it.
The other thing I get really tired of doing is making the same things for the holiday meal. Why waste the money on a turkey when you can have other things like spagetti and meat sauce? Or you could have a roast or even a steak? And if you think htere are ones that are not big enough then go to costo.
For some strange reason people always stress themselves out over this one day and it takes them a monthto do it and then all that is left at the end is a big mess that one person has to clean up and it takes them days to do it. For me I just have three people to cook for and whatever they want to eat they get and the mess isn’t all that much and easy to clean up.
Onto something else....
