like bone turns to ash,

leaves disintegrate between alabaster fingers -

this too shall pass away

like the family grieves,

wind howls through a forest of barren trees -

this too shall pass away

like a woman smiles into the pain,

a cherry blossom balances on the water's calm surface -

this too shall pass away

like the embrace of a beloved friend,

golden sunlight bathes her face in warmth -

this too shall pass away

so too shall i pass away
