I’m going to force myself to sit here and type something out because I know I’m just being dumb about it. I have the time and no good excuses.

Let’s see what’s changed since I last wrote....apparently in February, okay. Not much I’m guessing. You’d think there would be something in 3 1/2 months. shrug

I finished out the season never once being able to work from home even though we did hire the receptionist. It’s just too difficult to get someone trained and fully up to speed in such a short amount of time. She did well though. A couple random quirks that most young people have these days but definitely helped ease our load and let us focus on the actual work. She seemed to enjoy being there and I was sorry to have to let her go in early May due to lack of work. She’ll always be welcome to come back though. I think the experience was good for her. She’d never worked a “real” job like that, so it was a good place to start.

I’m looking back through my calendar to see what’s been happening. EC and I gave up a bunch of stuff for Lent [beer, chips, red meat, candy] it was an interesting adventure and we were glad to have survived!! Easter was a fantastic day. haha. Mom came over to the house and spent the night. So we did [Costco] chicken alfredo when she arrived. For Easter they had some fancy steaks/bacon wrapped shrimp and I had bacon wrapped hot dogs. haha. Side dishes of green salad, chili beans, potato salad. It was all good. The next day EC and I opened a bottle of prosecco and made french toast breakfast. Yum.

Now, did I have to look back at my pictures to remember that? Yes. I’m old. hah. EC had taken a week off sometime in there too and we enjoyed some relaxing staycation days.

May was an interesting month so maybe I’ll come back to talk about that one separately.

We’re having people over this weekend. It was supposed to be our only “free” weekend of the month since everyone and their mother has something going on these days. But EC’s friend SL basically invited herself over. Yay. We’re not good at saying no. ha. Also we really love our house and wish more people would enjoy it with us.

She wanted to have a BBQ [EC is really good at that!] and last week we finally had time/good weather to set up the pool for the year. We got in last Friday/Saturday after the set up and it was glorious! I missed being able to float around. We’re actually getting in tonight after EC gets home from work!

So, pool party/backyard BBQ it is! SL is bringing her kid and a guy friend. I also invited my mom since Sunday is Father’s Day and we usually celebrate with her. She conveniently found a room at the casino for the night. I’ve got a menu planned and shopping list made. It should be fairly easy.

I’m off to find a snack while I wait for EC to get home. This was better than nothing I guess.

rose.
