Well, my word for today might as well be GRACE since my daily words are aspirational.
I’ve already spilled one GIANT Yeti tumbler full of ice water on my kitchen floor. And if that wasn’t enough spilling on a Monday, I immediately spilled my cup of coffee as I hopped on the walking pad at the standing desk just now to start this entry.
I had to check my horoscope just now and then I Googled to see if Mercury is in retrograde. Alas, I have no excuses except for my clumsiness. So yes, I will aspire to be a little more graceful today!
You might be wondering about yesterday’s plan to FLIRT my butt off. Well, let’s just say my butt is still intact. I promise that it wasn’t for lack of getting out there - at least my intentions were good!
But after I wrote yesterday’s entry, the rain moved in and it was this intermittent super light spit and then gullywasher-type rain that kept me from going out on the downtown trail. I decided to go to this smaller park called Central Park that’s connected to this cute shopping area where you can shop boutiques, get groceries and then hang out on this really nice patio area. On Sundays there is normally live music in the late mornings and lots and lots of people watching galore!
The grocery store is one of those experiential places where you walk through a maze of high-end produce and then a full-on massive butcher shop, then it’s a full-blown wine shop, then beautiful and amazing cheeses, a bath and body shop, a coffee selection that would blow your absolute MIND, a beautiful bakery, etc. etc. all the way until you get to a fancy coffee shop and cafe. There are always hot dudes there, sometimes shopping alone, sometimes with their kids, and I read somewhere that single men shop in the morning on the weekends. Perfect for the flirt, right?
Well, for yesterday, wrong.
Literally every man I encountered yesterday was wearing a wedding band. I was actually pretty shocked because I feel like many men don’t love wearing wedding bands anymore. I almost never see wedding bands anymore…I guess until I started paying attention again.
I guess the thing is I honestly haven’t really been looking at all!
So even though I maybe smiled at a couple of guys and said “excuse me” when I moved my cart around them, I didn’t get a whole lot of flirting it, I think that the positive thing is that I was actually OPEN and actively LOOKING, two things I haven’t been doing in a long, long time.
I will chalk that up as a start.
And after I was finished shopping, I grabbed a chai tea latte and the sun came out. So it was nice to sit outside for a minute and watch some of the married dudes hang with their kids. Ha!
And now it’s a new week. Better get this one started!
