Hey y’all! I’m back from my trip to see [Athena]! We were in Bentonville, Arkansas. Oh, what a wild and whirlwindy trip it was!
I will write more about that later - I just wanted to get back in here and tap out a few words before I do my workout. I fell off my morning routine wagon while I was traveling, but only by a little bit. I loved going out for walks in the mornings with [Athena] and her dogs and Martini. It’s been so nice to have my friend back for a while. I’d missed her more than I even realized!
I am so happy I was able to spend the whole week with A and live in a sort of roommate situation. We both worked during this trip, and we both took the day off on Friday, a gloomy day where we did some mundane things, but the rest of the trip was full and I decided not to be so strict with my days.
But now I’m back on the morning routine!
I’m now reading a book called Mindsight and it’s fascinating. It’s about the mind-brain-body connection and how we interact with ourselves and others. In essence, it’s about being mindful, but I’m also learning more and more about how to be an empathetic person…something I may not have done a very good job of in my past. I’m enthralled and will let you know what I’m learning because it’s important!
And even though I let myself eat whatever looked and sounded good to me while I was traveling (we had some FANTASTIC dinners!!), I actually lost a half-pound. Maybe that was a little bit of muscle weight since I didn’t lift weights last week (we talked about that on our walks…MUST look into a weighted vest!). I really don’t want to lose any more weight. I need to work on building that muscle!
Okay, time for the workout, dog walk and werk. Happy to be back and writing entries!
xo,
GS
