Hello everyone,
I came from OD, i found this site from one of my favorites on OD. I guess, i didn't know that OD might shut down until i came on this site and read some entries from other people who have joined this site in fear that OD is shutting down.
I hope not... But just in case, i signed up as well.
Well My name is Luis, 26 from Guatemala... starting a new life, here after living in the US for 15 years, and my residency in the US was denied so i had to voluntarily depart and come back to my home country, which i left when i was 10. Its a new challenge for me, since, one, came from speaking all English all the time, to speaking Spanish all the time, and to a world i never got to know...or ever knew.
In the US, i was working as HR Rep, was a volunteer Firefighter and had just started my own interpreting/translating business. Had just started living with my GF of 3 years, and we were planning on buying a house, and hopefully getting married.
Now, my GF and i broke up, lost my jobs, my business, and i am trying to get back up. everyday is a challenge waking up and seeing all my surroundings completely different and in a strange world.
I've been in Guatemala for 9 months already, in October i am hoping to obtain a degree here in Guatemala in Business Administration, and by March or 2014, hoping to obtain my Private Pilots License.
All if God permits! taking it all one day at a time. the more i am in this place, the harder it seems to get. But, with Gods help i hope to pull through!
So, that's a little about me, so Nice to meet everyone.
