Since coming back from our Honeymoon we have had a busy schedule. The in-laws visited for a week after we came back, but La Professeure took care of entertaining them (she's on summer break), but it was still busy during the week because of social activities (my brother-in-law and sister-in-law visited during that time and we spent time with her family too). It was a bit much, especially coming after the back of a 1 1/2 week cruise where we had forced socializing. Also, we hung out with the Ex-Chamber Music Group Organiser, La Professeure's college friend, her co-workers, etc.

We went to the Museum of Natural History for my birthday where they have an exhibit of Pterosaurs. It was neat but not terribly impressive. We then went to a restaurant called Ninja NYC for dinner with Wise Young Friend because it was also Little Boo-boo and Schnookie's birthdays too. It's decorated like a medieval Japanese village and the servers are dressed up like Ninjas, and their dishes have elaborate presentations, with flashing lights and dry ice. Little Boo-boo was very concerned about being attacked by the Ninja waiters. My company had distributed Google Cardboard demo for us and I brought it; the kids were very entertained by it.

I didn't visit California this year, but it was plenty busyness for me.

Many of my co-workers are on vacation this month so it's been relatively quiet at work. I get to do heads-down code-writing, so that is nice. My co-workers are on the design stage of their pieces, so they are writing a lot of design docs and investigations. I told them I liked reading their design docs because misery loves company.

Since coming back from Europe I have been shifted a little to Europe time, so I've been waking up earlier than normal, and managed to get into work in time for free breakfast. However I feel like it's starting to slip, and I'm getting more and more tired in the mornings as we move farther away from July.

The organiser of the Amateur Musician Group phoned to tell me that the amateur orchestra plan for the 2015 concert is now postponed, so I don't have to practice the concerto anymore. That is nice but I wish I had known this earlier. So now I get to pick what I want to work on. In truth, however, I find that I don't practice as much anymore after I moved into the suburbs. I think I spent maybe 2 hours on the piano last week?

The days seem to blend into each other in the suburbs. Sometimes it feels like we haven't done anything, but at the same time incredibly busy. It is probably just an effect of getting old.
