An operation on each hand for carpal tunnel.
Covid and the aftermath (okay so I didn’t stay in hospital but felt like shit for quite a while).
Many stop starts.
Deciding to go back to uni but getting rejected, deciding it was not a good idea in a cost of living crisis and not appealing the decision.
Trialing other courses but not really feeling them.
Trying to cope with the physicality of being a father with carpal tunnel and the recovery from the operations.
Moving to a new city and getting on the property ladder.
Carrying on with a job I seem to hate.
Going for other jobs and then realising during the interview the job was worse than my current job and payed 10k less! (Instant demotivator).
Relationship strains (aftermath of traumatic birth).
A horrible flu in the run up to Christmas.
Chest infection during Christmas.
Falling down the stairs and cracking a rib. What a ‘cracking’ end to the year.
It was a trying year and I hope that it’s going to be better in 2023. I hope to write some positive entries about fatherhood and regaining my health. Music! Prose! Gardening!
