back to junk in 2014

So apparently I'm coming down with some kind of cold. Did I write about this? Because I'm a little upset with the whole situation. Mostly at myself, since you know, it's my body and all. hah.

The thing is: I've been eating way healthier this year. Normally work season = horrible eating habits. Like fast food for breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner. But this year we've done really well. Eating more home-made food and trying to stay away from all the junk. Plus I've been on a probiotic thing, drinking this weird mushroom concoction that's supposed to be healthy, and being pretty diligent about hand washing/wiping surfaces.

I haven't even been around anyone that is sick. I remember one guy Saturday [too soon] and the only other person I recall being "sick" was the winemaker who came in last week. He said he hadn't shown up in the last two days because he had a cold. I specifically remember this because I backed away and told him not to get too close in one of my "oh-so-funny" ways. This fits the approximate timeline and we both know I didn't actually stay that far away from him. ;-) So maybe...but he didn't present symptoms and I'm hesitant to blame him. Probably just some sneaky person I don't remember being around.

It's crazy though. I can't remember the last time I was sick twice in one year. Like maybe when I was a little kid running around the germ-infested elementary schools. In all my most recent memories I've only been sick once every two years or so. sigh I have decided I'll just go back to eating like a college kid. Junk, junk, and really easy to heat up junk. That'll make me feel better for sure. It's a proven technique!

And I just double booked appointments for tomorrow. damn. Now I have to make the dreaded phone call where I admit I'm an idiot and can't manage two calendars. I'll just blame my coworker, say she made an appointment that wasn't input in the computer, and giggle my way through it. That seems to be the answer for most anything. Smile and laugh.
