I’m back from the wedding with Crazy Bob. Believe it or not, I was home by 8:30! I mean, we did leave at 12:30, but it is nice to be home at a decent hour.

It took over an hour to get to the wedding venue, so we had a good chunk of time to talk while driving there. I asked Crazy Bob about the couple on the way down and how he knows them.

So Cr. Bob is a psychiatrist and he uses a preferred pharmacy for all of the drugs he prescribes (and he prescribes a LOT of drugs) and the groom in the wedding is one of the pharmacists he works with.

The wedding was absolutely lovely. The venue sits on the banks of a beautiful river on the site of what was once a grist mill and cotton gin. The ceremony was beautiful. The couple were the nicest people.

And ALL of the wedding guests were pharmacists!

I heard more conversation about Adderall and generics and the fact that doctors need to specify to their patients to make sure that their Viagra is the diamond shaped tab and not any other shape. CRAZY. It got old after several hours.

Now Cr. Bob told me that there would be people at this wedding that he wanted me to meet, but the only people I met were all coupled up, so while it was VERY nice to get out and socialize, there was no one of real interest. So I sat fairly quietly and talked with a few people, but ultimately let Cr. Bob take the lead in most of the convos with his pharmacist friends.

And we left before the night got wild. When the band started playing and people started line dancing, we took that as our cue to go. Did I tell you that Crazy Bob had a stroke in September? He’s still walking with a dropped leg so there was to be no dancing.

The drive home was a little concerning and I asked Bob if he was too worn out to drive. He said he was totally fine, so I let him drive me the hour and a half home, but it was kinda scary. He drives a Porsche Cayanne and seems to have a little bit of trouble keeping it in between the lines, maybe? There were a few times I looked over to see we were going 100 mph and there was a little swirvy action (we’d each had one drink five hours earlier, so I know he wasn’t impaired by alcohol - I think he was impaired by stroke fatigue). But all was good in the end and we made it. It was good to be home.

And yet, I was thrilled that I had gotten out out and socialized with human people. As much as I love being with my dog, I think we both needed some quality time apart.

Anyway, beautiful day. I already don’t want this weekend to end. I’m sad that we’re losing an hour overnight! Tomorrow morning I’ll get Martini and we’ll go on a nice long walk and that will be the cherry on top of this weekend sundae!

Happy Spring, my peeps.

Whoooo! Good times! Glad you made it home safe! xx

You had a 100 mph drive with a stroke victim doc who "prescribes a lot of drugs." Alcohol in his system would be the least of my worries. I have said many times I have never met a psych major who did not need a psych major. Don't let that man drive.

What'd you wear to the wedding? pics!!!

Ginger Snap CharminglyNeurotic ⋅ March 12, 2023

Weirdly, we didn’t take any pics! Bob was quick to make sure people knew I wasn’t his date (so no pics together) and I’m feeling so self conscious of my body lately.

Wow for the pharmacists wedding!

Man, the party doesn't even get started until they bust out the line dancing!

I don't know why but I'm delighted that you felt the impulse to abbreviate Crazy. Cr. Bob seems so much more not crazy. :)

Glad you had a good time.
