Intensity Levels in These Foolish Things

Level 0: Lovely came to visit my new home (The Place) on Sunday. She was in town with her husband to visit her in-laws and I thought she and her husband were going to come visit on their way back home, but since Monday was a holiday, they ended up staying an extra day and I got to visit with Lovely all to myself for nearly the whole day!! What a bonus! We were very mellow and easy - a little coffee, nice chat while sitting on the balcony, then lunch and a walk around a cute little part of town with vintage shops and such. It was absolutely wonderful.

Level 3: My morning routines are getting back on track. Take this morning: medium-intensity workout found on YouTube for 20 minutes then 15 minutes of stretching. Shower. Dressed. Lunch and snacks packed. Then to the park for a 30-minute dog walk. Then the 15-minute drive to the office.

Level 5: The gooood looonggg walks with the dog over the weekend. The most intense walk was on Sunday morning when I was supposed to be having a walk and talk via phone with [Athena]. Instead, she had bad reception and I ended up walking with a handsome stranger (and his dog)…who approached ME (and Martini) on the trail! We ended up walking and talking about three miles together. Great conversation. Easy-going. That’s not the intense part. The intense part was when we got to the place where we had to part ways and he told me he’d love to walk with me again and not to be a stranger. And then was kind of leaning away to walk away and I was like…”How can I not be a stranger if you don’t have my number?” Or something like that. And he was like, “Oh yeah, let me take your number.” And then he fumbled around with his phone while I gave him my digits and he told me he’d sent me a text so we can meet up again. All of that seemed very intense because it’s been so long since I’ve had an interaction like that! Still, no text.

Level 10: New job. VERY intense. Like, the most. I’m looking at lots to learn and long, long hours. But you know what? I’m kinda into it. No. I’m really into it! I love the product, I think the people who work in the office are badasses, my team (who work remotely), are talented and work at the speed of light, and I report directly to the CEO, who seems to have a great trust level with me already! It’s very, very hardcore, but I have a feeling I’m going to thrive once I figure out what’s what. Everyone is on their A-game, and I’ve never been a part of something like this before. Level 10, unlocked!

Now, I’m exhausted and going to bed.

GS

Love it! Time to thrive.

All great stuff! I feel that about my team too - while the job isn't my passion, my team are all A-game people, and it makes me thrive in the chaos. It's nice to be part of something like that.

"Everyone is on their A-game, and I’ve never been a part of something like this before." Oh, this feels good!

I'm jealous of your work. Too many times, my clients brought their C-team to a D-minus-game.
