We had a smooth landing in Buenos Aires at 10:30 local time, and customs and luggage claim were smooth too because no one flew on NYE. By the time we got our luggage and met up with the car service driver it was only 11:30, so we got to the hotel at noon. The driver was very nice - his day job is being a ballet dancer, and he had just been the grandfather in Nutcracker at Teatro Colon!! We got to our room, verified that we could stay in the same room even though we had two different bookings (one from ourselves, and one through Hurtigruten), settled in, and got lunch at 1. The restaurant was practically empty. We caught up on sleep afterwards, and went to use the pool an hour before it closed (which was a cool basement swimming pool). We did not do sightseeing today, as it was raining.

I’m still not fully caught up on sleep yet so will probably hit the sack soon (it’s 9 here but actually 7 new york time). So today was a relaxing recovery from red-eye flight.
