Bad working week in Life

Monday was actually a pretty decent shift at work. It was straightforward and I did my favourite run to South Wales. Tuesday was absolutely dire. They sent me out in a hire lorry with a control system that I was unfamiliar with so that slowed me down and just made everything hard work. Wednesday was a slight improvement. I was back in my usual truck but I still finished late. The situation with my job is not helped by the planner regularly putting extra jobs on me.

I am getting more and more frustrated with the late unpaid finishes and having additional tasks dumped on me. The job wasn’t what I expected it to be when I started it almost a year ago. The main reason why I have stuck with the job for this long is that the hours suited me and gave me plenty of opportunities to spend more time with the toddler. The company and the management on the whole are ok and the working conditions are way better than my previous employer. But, unfortunately, that doesn’t make up for the pay being poor and going over my hours most weeks.

Toddler is starting nursery in January so his days are going to become alot busier. That provides me with a bigger window to find a job that I want to do and pays well. I have a couple of weeks leave booked between now and Christmas so that’s my opportunity to find a new employer.
