I'm watching Millionaire Matchmaker on Hulu because I guess I kind of hate myself. What I've learned so far is that the more money you have, the shallower you become... I think your wife/husband is supposed to be more of an achievement at that point than a partner. That's cool, if you're both into it.

The matchmaker herself has very sexist ideas about dating, and she also says that there should be no sex on the first date. I kind of get why, but I don't agree with it. If we're both consenting, we should be able to sleep with each other whenever we choose. I don't think sex on the first date makes anyone less respectable than sex on the sixth date. Having a sexuality is OKAY and it's NORMAL and NATURAL. gasp

I'm not saying you're not "cool" for waiting to have sex either. That's totally cool too. I think we should all feel comfortable with ourselves sexually, and we aren't comfortable having sex on the first date, that's totally okay and respectable. I don't think people should be pressured to have sex and I don't think people should feel pressured to wait if they don't want to, if both are comfortable with the idea. Coercion is never okay.

I've been thinking about how much I'd really like to have a sex life again. It's been like two years since we've really had one. I'm sure we will have one (sort of) in a few years, but I lament not having one. I'd like to explore some new things and I'd like to just... do it. But we just can't with our current lifestyle, which is fine. It's just not ideal for now. I guess I haven't really had a sex drive until now anyway, and I probably won't when I'm breastfeeding.

Anyway.

I found a guitar that I really want to get, and it's only $100. I'm waiting until the fall to buy it, since I'm trying to save money right now and we just paid for a really expensive dental treatment for my sister. I need a smaller guitar, since my hands are smaller. I have a Daisy Rock Debutante acoustic guitar that I used to play, but it desperately needs new strings and I haven't played it in ages. I want an electric one so I can try the game Rock Smith. hah. Anyway, it's a Fender Squier mini stratocaster. I never really wanted a Fender, but I do like the look of it and I can customize stuff if I want.

I have completely forgotten everything I learned about playing guitar. Ugh. I am not sure how often I will ever get to play it, so thankfully it's cheap.

After I have this kid, I've been thinking about starting a fashion blog. I love clothes and stuff, so why not? It'll give me an excuse to dress up, since I don't really get to often. I might just start it on here and make it a separate book. I don't know yet, I've got awhile before I can do it... I'll have to lose some weight first after I have the baby.

I've finished more books this summer so far than I have since having Cannon almost two years ago... I read three books in the past four weeks. I just finished a book a couple of days ago and I tried to start the Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury but I'm not really enjoying it. It's very Twilight Zone. Don't get me wrong, I like to watch Twilight Zone, but this book so far is just too repetitive and I'm too used to non-fiction to really enjoy it. I'll probably end up reading another non-fiction book next. I can't remember the last time I actually finished a work of fiction. I just don't enjoy it as much.

One of the best parts of finishing a book is the excitement of choosing a new one, so I've been slow about choosing one. :P

The Martian Chronicles was alright... I read it once when I was in school. Hmm... if I was going to give advice for a non-non-fiction book to read, what would I suggest reading? Have you tried The Book Thief? It's... interesting. It's narrated by Death, and talks about living in WWII. It's on my to-read / to-finish list.

I'm also reading/listening to Red Dwarf books these days... they're fun and zany. And if you like the t.v. show, they're great.

I love that you're thinking about all this stuff to do for you. I think it's a great idea. I love the pink guitar. :) I used to play bass when I was a teenager but I stopped really playing it when I was in college. I always sort of lament never doing anything with it.
