We have had a life
The dog and the woman
Gracie and Mommy
It’s lasted from when the factory closed
Until almost no one remembers anymore.

Walks and runs, naps and pants
Time that lasted forever
Years that went by in a flash
The days and nights, dawns and sunsets
That made us who we are.

Gracie had fur and Mommy didn’t.
Gracie would bark away the night
Mommy did the unmentionable
Both of us scaring and seeking
Unwanted entities that never came.

This is beautifully expressed! It makes me want to write a Cara/Daddy poem.

Lots of poetry between people and animals.

You have each other and I'm glad of that.

I'd love to meet Gracie...and you 😀

Lovely. My life has always been intertwined with my dogs and other animals.

I don't have a wordful response to this one. Something about it resonates in me
