Today’s his birthday. He’s 78 if he’s still alive.
I have a mutual friend I ask about him but the last few times the friend hasn’t had anything to say about him. I have a phone number that I doubt is any good anymore.
I don’t really want to talk to him. In a way it’s too bad. Maybe we could have ended up friends. It’s too late now. Close to it, anyway.

Your friend says nothing or has not much to say about him when you ask? There's a difference. You should do some internet sleuthing to satisfy your curiosity.

There are people I'm actually moved to find out about now, after years, but my lack of engagement on the social networks of choice makes it hard. And in the end, I'm not sure what the point is except curiousity.
