I'm a hard-workin' dude in Not-So-Hum-Dingers

Happy Friday!

I apologize for the long time since my last entry, but life's busy.

I have been kickin' the dish-hiney like whoa all month long, and just trying to be the best Jake that I can be. Being Sezzie's husband and Ashley's father have been rewarding as all get out, and I'm so grateful to be a family with those two.

I've worked a lot of Saturdays lately, and tomorrow will be another one. The two youngest workers are graduating from high school tomorrow, one of them is the weekend dishwasher, so I've been asked to fill in. I'm glad to step up and be there when they need me, but it will be so nice to get my full weekends back.

I asked Russ if it would be cool if I went down to Oz for Christmas this year, and he said yes. We go down there to spend six weeks with Sezzie's side of the family every other year. I'm so grateful to have all of these people in my life who help make my life so full of awesomeness.

Things with that cook that we hired have gone weird. You see, she got arrested for driving drunk (spouting off the excuse that she only had like 3 glasses of wine and she wasn't driving dangerously). She calls in an awful lot, looks haggered/sad/angry most of the time, and I swear I smell the booze on her when she comes back from the walk-in fridge sometimes. She has never worked an entire week for the restaurant. She's just lame, and I'm glad that I continue to be a reliable and competent employee.

Ashley continues to be the most amazing thing I have ever played any part in. I love being her daddy.

I'm just so grateful to be in a really good place in life.

:) Hope you're having a good weekend.

My aunt used to be the cook at a restaurant and her experience was that most of the employees tend to be like the drunk you are dealing with rather than responsible like you. Probably just one of the reason your boss is so accommodating about letting you have time off.

Do you think you and Sez will go to easy diary?
