NJM16: Polar in These Foolish Things

Well, the day is over. I’m nestled in bed; Martini’s at my feet; the Bachelorette is on in the background. Hee!

My little Mini Pearl II needed an oil change today so we had to go over to the BMW dealership to have her serviced first thing this morning. At 7:30am, the place was packed and there were probably 15 service people in the building and not one single person, staff or customer, was wearing a mask (except for me). Wow. It felt like stepping into 2019. The Before Times.

Alas, it’s not 2019, and it’s never going to be the same. But it just feels so polar. It’s either like Covid was never a thing or the world is ending tomorrow. And yes, I err on the side of cautiousness - I still don’t know how my post-chemo body would react to getting the Rona, but again, I’ve had three Pfizer shots.

Buuuuutttt, I have major tired head thinking about all of this bullshit. I want this pandemic to be O.V.E.R.

Today I logged into the Lose It app. Anybody have this app? Yeah, I’d also forgotten about it too. The last time I’d logged in? EIGHT years and 15 pounds ago! Ugh. Yeah, I’m working on getting a handle on my body again. I spent all of 2021 (and really, all of 2020 and most of 2019) feeling out of control of my body, and now that I’m in recovery, I want to treat my body sooooo well.

And other stuff going on. If I didn’t have the looming deadline ahead of me at work I could concentrate more on life. Why does it suck the life out of me?

Well, tired. Sleep calling.
Love and relaxation,

GS

There's still a lot of mask-wearing in my neck of the woods. No one seems to make a big deal out of wearing one or not wearing one, but I think most folks are just trying to err on the side of caution, which I greatly appreciate.

People seem to have given up on masks here too. It's so disheartening. And there's talk that self isolating when you've tested positive will end in the spring too. Ugh.
I've not heard of Lose It. I use MyFitnessPal which seems to work well for me - when I use it! xx

I have been deathly ill. My covid test was negative.
