NJM6: Saturday Stuff in These Foolish Things

Good morning! Gotta get an entry out early because I have a good long day ahead of me.

First, still working on getting my apartment together. Yes, it’s still a work in progress after moving in four months ago! It’s slow, but it’s purposeful. I LOVE this Treehouse!

Still have some decor pieces I need to get, so this morning I’ll be going to Homegoods and At Home to see what I can find.

And I’m having a couple of friends over tonight for a late birthday celebration since I was out of town for my actual birthday and Best Bud has been so busy with her kid over the last few weekends.

Going to be an interesting evening as my two friends have kids who are the same age in high school. I hate to say it but I’m not super excited about talking about their kids all night. OR talking about work all night (we’ve all worked together at the same companies but we don’t work together anymore). But what else is there to talk about? I don’t have a relationship to talk about or even dates to regale them with.

Haha. It’s actually going to be a lovely evening. I love that my girls are happy to come over to the Treehouse and Best Bud is even spending the night! This is exactly why I am in a 2-bedroom place. I have plenty of room for guests and even a spare bathroom. In my downtown place, it was always too cozy. Here, there’s room to spread out and even privacy and big beds for everyone!

But before all of the girls stuff, I’m going to have lunch with an old high school friend who’s going to be at the airport for a few hour layover. I haven’t seen him since the 80s, but we follow each other on FB. It’s not a romantic thing at all as he lost his wife a little over a year ago and he’s still heartbroken. But this guy was one of the nicest guys in high school and it’s always fun to see old childhood friends.

OK, gotta get rolling. Long day/evening ahead!
