A life that found her way to me in Many things

Last Thursday night it started raining so I went out to move my car to a better spot. I heard a kitten crying somewhere nearby so I tried looking for it but it was too dark. The following morning my brother and his gf found it under the hood of someone else’s car. Luckily the car owner was around and quickly caught her as he opened the hood of his car. There was another kitten, a grey colored sibling which the car owner decided to adopt. My brother brought home a black kitten, which by the sound of her, was the one I heard crying the other night.

She’s in my care now as my brother has his hands full with 2 of his own cats and a newly adopted puppy. Her teary eyes reminds me of Yuffy, my cat that passed away this summer. She’s very sweet and it didn’t take long for her to open up and fall asleep on my lap with her belly up and legs stretched. I gave her a well needed bath and pulled out over 20 fleas off her. I haven’t seen any sight of any other fleas so far. She’s been eating a lot, but I haven’t seen her drink water yet. I’m going to take her to the vet tomorrow or on Monday for some essential shots. I hope she lives a long and happy life.

There are a few friends of friends that wants to adopt her, but I think I’ll keep her. Maybe. I just can’t help but feel a sense of guilt, that I’m replacing Yuffy. And I’m afraid of reliving life’s cruelty when it’s time to say goodbye. I don’t know if I want to keep her only to go through that again in the future.
