Hot as hell... in Everyday Rants...

We’re in the middle of a massive heatwave in Seattle. It crossed 100F in town today, and got to high 90’s out where I am. Tomorrow, it’s expected to cross 110F in Seattle, and 106F out here. It’s nuts. It’s half the humidity we’d get to where I’m from, but crossing over 100F, humidity here won’t make a difference. I have a bad feeling how this is going to turn out for the area. We have such a high percentage of homeless (most of whom are addicted to something or other), I doubt their population is going to fare very well. It’s to the point, the local fire department has been going out and spraying people down with the water cannon. I can’t recall that happening in the 11 years I’ve been here. Put it this way, my air conditioners have not shut off since I turned it warmer when I got up this morning. I’ve also had the bathroom vent fan held on all day, trying to take the hot air out, which has kind of helped. It’s also helped that I’ve done what I wish my neighborhood would do more often - be still and quiet.

It got so hot, I was going up to the store to get something, and the clerk I like (I think I said she looked wild but fun) was leaving, and the the security gate was closed. I pulled over and offered her a ride home (which isn’t far from the store, or my house) and she told me that it almost hit 90F in the store, so the owner closed it for the day. She was shocked when I told her what the forecast was for tomorrow, and said they’d probably close early tomorrow. It’s unfortunate, as it’s a nice little store, but they need more business, so they can fix the place up - like a new HVAC system.
I’ve also gotten a little more friendly with her. I was picking on her last week. It ended in us both laughing after:
Her: “Fuck you!”
Me: “Iiiiiii wish you would!”
She flipped me off, and we laughed it off. I’ve gotten talking with her a little more, and I was right about her being wild, but that’s in her past. I like learning the story of people, and hers is definitely a good one, so far. Kinda surprising.

Nothing much has been happening lately, that’s why I haven’t been writing. My depression is still kicking my ass, and I’m now getting to where it’s affecting my energy level at work. I’m going to have to make an appointment to see the doctor. I had to drive an hour and a half, and kept having to smack myself in the face to keep my eyes from getting heavy. I’ve been doing a lot of keeping still and quiet when I’m at home, and I’m also back to speed running my grocery shopping. Meh.

I gotta put the laptop up. My pills are kicking in.
