I had fished all night, but caught nothing.

The crowds followed Jesus relentlessly. He saw our empty boats and asked if he could sit in one, rest away from those who jostled him, but continue to teach and minister to them. I pushed the boat onto the water for him as he asked and he taught the people.

When Jesus had finished talking he said to me, "Push your boat out further where the water is deeper and let down your nets and you shall find many fish."

What was he thinking? I'm a fisherman. I'd fished all night. If there were any fish to be had, they'd already be in my empty nets.

But something compelled me to do as he asked. There was something about this man. He spoke with...with...authority.

We let down our nets and immediately they filled with fish! So many fish! My boat couldn't contain them and I thought the boat would sink. I called over my mates in their boats to haul in the fish. What a bounty!

I was overwhelmed by the size of the catch. It was barely believable!

Suddenly I knew this was no ordinary man and I fell down at his feet, realizing I was a sinner.

Jesus said not to be afraid. He called me to follow him and he would make me a fisher of men...

I'm not sure exactly what he meant, but I am following this man.
