Well, the last week was pretty great (mostly), but it ended on a sucky note.
The good news? To start I’ve tuned my recently acquired mandolin and it sounds AMAZING. In addition, my awesome gaming PC came in the mail yesterday which is sweet because I need it for game development and the last laptop I had a SERIOUS loading problem. Word of advice dear readers, DON’T BUY DELL LAPTOPS EVER!
Anyway, I met this really cool woman on a dating app and we texted a bunch last Sunday. I broke up with my last girlfriend about two weeks ago and suffice to say, I’m back on the dating scene! (at least digitally).
Finally, today was a D&D day over on Roll20 and my character, who is a goblin wizard, got bit in the shoulder by some demon thing and lost about half of his hit points. I have to say, I thought being a wizard would be a lot more fun but most of the time what happens in combat is this: I throw a spell, it does minimal damage, I run away OR the enemy counter-attacks, and I almost die each time. Bottom line, D&D is way more fun when you play a tough guy rather than some scholar in combat.
So I’m working with our DM to make a new character whose race is an Oni (a type of super-strong magical demon described in Japanese Shinto) and he’s going to be named Jasutindoji after yours truly! For those who don’t know, this name is a slight homage to Shutendoji who according to legend was a super powerful demon king who lived during the time of the 66th emperor of Japan. Anyhoo, I’m leaning toward the idea of making Jasutindoji a Wild Magic Barbarian in terms of class (Fighter makes no sense because of how Oni don’t really wear armor) and either an Outlander or Criminal in terms of background. I also thought about making him a Warlock due to the combination of magic and fighting prowess but to be honest I think Magic Barbarian is better.
Now the bad news. One of my close relatives is now in quarantine because she was in contact with a friend who tested positive for Covid. I’m pretty sure that she doesn’t have it but now she’s stuck in bed until the test results come in. And this doubly sucks for me cause now I can’t go anywhere until this clears up. Fuck Covid. Fuck it in the ass. Same for the Communist Party of China and Xi Jinprick for letting this happen.
Well that was my week and I tell ya I’m getting some Outback Steakhouse for dinner.
