This is a compilation of John F. Kennedy’s presidential press conferences. It’s narrated by E. G. Marshall. It has a lot of history in it. Those of us who remember those years will think of where we were, what we were doing, and what came afterward.
It’s worth watching.

That was excellent and really interesting - thank you for sharing it. I was a bit miffed that he seemed to be patronising the women reporters but realised a lot of that came from one woman and that there was more to the relationship. It led me to an interview with May Craig about her life which was equally as interesting. Except it didn’t help to make a dent in the five pages of unread bookmarks I currently have on here haha! :)

Funny - I've been thinking of Springfield a lot since the riot at the U.S capitol. My husband and I went to the Illinois capital on one of our last 'vacations'. Legislature was in session and we went up into the gallery to watch. I had a camera - film at that time. And I took a few pictures - I was fascinated by the open laptops with their blue green screens - reminding me of the swimming pools on the roofs of Chicago buildings we'd seen the day before from the Hancock building.
Almost immediately a guard came and told me photos from the gallery were absolutely forbidden. He didn't take my camera or my film - I suppose I seemed pretty innocent - but boy was someone paying attention. I guess there might have been a sign I didn't see.

When Blake was born Frank was the head page at the Capital . I was asked to bring Blake to the floor so the lawmakers could see him ; so at 6 weeks he was introduced on the floor at the Capital :-) and received applause and a formal introduction in the minutes of the session. :-) The Capital is a very impressive building. Frank was friends with all the security guards and we were able to explore the building after hours :-) We have been in the dome , it’s usually off limits to everyone . Memories !
