Whelp. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving for those of us living in these United (ahem) States of America. The year is all downhill from here.

Work was super easy today. Hardly anyone there. Hardly anyone working. Best Bud invited me to meet her for lunch, and it was a pretty glorious day, so I agreed to meet her at our favorite place for pho.

Unfortunately, their patio wasn’t open today - even though the weather was spectacular, so we decided to try a couple of other options and were both shocked to see that two of the restaurants we’d chosen for back-ups went out of business during Covid.

We ended up at this little pizza place that had a teeny tiny patio. It was fine, could have been cute, even. But the patio faced into the parking lot and it just so happened that there was a crazy man who decided to scream-rap into his phone, back and forth in front of where we were sitting. Showoff.

Lunch was decent. It felt rushed. We talked about our respective Thanksgiving plans and it made me a little melancholy for the carefree days way back when - I mean much further back than Corona Times, like back when we were both single and ready to mingle. Back when Best Bud was living with this crazy-ass swinging bachelor in this amazing bachelor pad. It was a platonic relationship between the two of them and Best Bud and I both got to reap the benefits as he looooved to throw huge parties and Best Bud (and sometimes I) got to live there for free. The parties were so epic and they’d sometimes roll on for days. Such a carefree life…

ANYWAY, I digress. Lunch was good, if only for the company. Then back to the office to finalize some things and I bugged out at 4 because Martini’s daycare was closing tonight at 5.

Everyone checks out the day before Thanksgiving, don’t they? Even in a pandemic. I guess especially in a pandemic.

I haven’t seen tons of photos on social of my friends traveling to be with big crowds of family, but then again, I think that’s all happening behind the scenes. I think people are doing it (actually, I know because of all the crowds at the airports), but they are keeping it off of the socials because they don’t want everyone to shame them.

UGH. Such a weird year.

I’ve been up playing around with some new electronic gadgets I just bought myself for a late bday gift: the new iPad Air + Apple Pencil. Lots of fun, but I have a lot to learn to make it do what I want it to. Which is, to figure out how to use the pencil to take good, usable and artistic looking notes/sketches, etc. and create and edit professional-looking videos. Lots to figure out!

Gotta go. I’m nodding off now.
Last sleep until turkey,
GS

Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope it's not going to lead to a huge virus increase like I'm sure Christmas will here. Stay safe! xx

Are you kidding? That's what I've been worried about for weeks! It's going to lead to a huge spike and it will yet worse at Christmas. I feel disaster looming and there's nothing I can do! The only thing to do is to be careful myself.

Exactly. That's all anyone can do! xx

I hope folk will be sensible this Thanksgiving otherwise it’s going to make it a mockery of what it’s all about!

Happy Thanksgiving ! I hope it’s not going to be that super spreader everyone thinks it will be.

I never had swinging bachelor days even when I was a bachelor. Can you feel nostalgic for something you never had? 'Cause I kinda do...

I might treat myself to that iPad with my Xmas bonus - I love that ProCreate program I keep seeing people using.
