RISKING MYSELF OUT…FOR WORK, MEETUPS, AND WORKOUTS…” in “LIFE IN THE TIMES OF CORONA: On A Mass Exile”

Alright, I admit it. I don’t always stay home during this pandemic era. Once in a while, when I have to, I still go out too.

Okay, fine. Sometimes I do go out because I just want to, okay? Grocery runs? That’s quite regularly, at least once in a week or two. So far, I’d only been out for work purposes. The rest were two or three meetups and two meetups/workout.

I’ve realized just how badly out of shape I’ve been since this #Covid-19 pandemic. I admit that I’ve let myself go so far. I don’t move as much and TV has been my addiction lately. In other words: I’ve turned into a cat.

This is why my last two workouts were a major disaster. First of all, forget running. I could barely do my long walks without wheezing myself out. The mask made it even worse. I know it’s required in public places these days, but it also limits your breathing even more.

Note to self: the next time I want to work out besides at home, I must find somewhere really quiet. (Since I live in the central part of the city, which is also a business district – tough luck.) If I’m to do so with a friend, I must be with the supportive kind. You know, the kind who won’t make fun of me – no matter how tempted they might be.
