God Bless Me, Doctor

God bless me, doctor
I am feeling a keen sort of dread
See, I woke up this morning
Breathing short and haggard
Full of pain and regret

God bless me, doctor
I am feeding this monster
That lives within my head
Without a way to silence her
I know how this song ends

God bless me, doctor
I am stealing motives from the sins
Got trapped in my favorite bad way
This old lock box of memories
Built to break me when I bend

Oh, dear God, bless me, doctor!
I want to surrender
From your false shelter
That is more prison
Than a friend
I got lost in my best way
And I believed in you
Wanted to believe
You are truth, well,
I am here to promise you
That won’t happen
Ever again

Thankfully it missed NOLA entirely, we got some weather bands but nothing out of the ordinary. Lake Charles got hammered but they're far to my west. You safely avoid it? I forget where exactly in Texas you are!
