Well after we visited Becky, her husband Dave and their new baby Genesis in Falmouth the 5 of us went to Portland for a late lunch. We ate at a place right on the water and the scenery was beautiful and the food and service was excellent. One thing I will say is on our trip every place we ate the food was terrific and the service was excellent. Maybe because it had been so long since we had really eaten out a lot.

We spent the night with Becky and Dave. We thwn spent 2 days in Portland. We did a lot of touristy things. We walked around the downtown, rented kayaks, took a boat ride, ate at a lot of really cute places. We stayed in a pet friendly hotel that was close to everything. We finally had to do laundry which kinda made us realize it may be time to head home.

We decided to drive to Newport and spend a few nights and then head home. We had such a great time in Newport we ended up staying 4 days. Steve had never been to the Mansions or on the Cliff walk. He loved the Mansions. Steve is like my dad he loves old architecture and loved the Breakers. We both enjoyed the Cliff Walk and Bella was excellent. She is such a great little dog. We ate outside for every meal and Bella joined us. We also went to the Tennis museum there and we both enjoyed looking at the old equipment. What fun 2 weeks.

We got home and spent a week home and then drove to Martha’s Vineyard to spend a week with my family. My parents own a home near Edgarton
.it is a 5 bedroom house on a Cul-de-sac. It has a bike and a running trail right behind it. My brother and his wife and their new baby Elijah, my Aunt Kathy & Uncle Al, my Aunt Jenny & Uncle Rick, my parents and Stevw and I are here for the next wwek or so. We also have 3 dogs who all seem to get along here..

Steve,my dad, Uncle Al and my brother are off golfing. My mom took all the ladies and baby Elijah to Chilmark to see the light house and tour the Island. Thwre is a native restaurant there that only serves local foods. It’s a nice way to spend the day but I was tired and just felt like reading, taking a shower and relaxing for the afternoon. My Uncle Rick is taking all.the dogs for a walk on the trail this afternoon.

Tonight we are having.a lobster and clam bake. Steve and I have been tasked.qith getting the lobsters and the clams. We will also have hamburgers and hot dogs for those who don’t eat lobster. What the guys do is they put #’s on the lobsters with nail polish. They then ha e the lobsters race on the back deck. It drives poor Bella absolutely crazy. But it is kinda fun

Then the guys will drink beer, talk about golf and argue about politics. My dad, brother and Steve are huge Trump fans. My Uncle Al and Rick are not so it is always interesting. My mom and I and anyone else who wants to will walk to town and get ice cream.

Tomorrow my dad, Aunt Kathy, Uncle Al and I are doing the Belmar virtual 5 mile run in the morning. We are then going to run to town and get donuts and bagels. They have the best crumb buns anywhere except for Avalon. Then tomorrow everyone is on their own.

Well time take a shower and get cleaned up. I maybsend Steve a picture of me with The Womanizer and tell him he is missing a good time!

Hard to believe the summer is almost over. Habe 2 more entries to write. One about Steves list for ma and one about the coming school year which is still in flux

Have a good weekend all!

Interesting to read about the little lobster race, heh. You said you had a moment when you realized you should start heading home... was this a vacation with an undetermined time?

No its just we had no reason to rush home as neither of us to worry about tennis and captains practices. Also I didn't have to go in and decorate my room and we both had some extra money as I refinanced my condo and had a 3 month gap until my next payment was due and Steve got 3 months off from paying rent. So we figured what the heck why rush home. We ended up spending an extra 10 days on vacation and it was a lot of fun. That's why Martha's Vineyard was so needed as we both just wanted to relax a little
