Life goes on in At the foot of the hill

Here we are starting the last full week of August. Still in “safer-at-home” mode. Not quite so “locked down”. Bringing back a few more normal activities.
Some of my readers here may remember back many years when I wrote about our youngest grandson that I called “Little Red” that we baby sat with a lot. (When he got bigger, I changed his name to “Rusty”.) Well this special young man received his degree in Eco Science Systems and Sustainability from Colorado State University last week, on his 23rd birthday. We are so proud of him. There was no big ceremony, of course, due to his finishing after a summer term and the COVID, but that’s okay.
He came to visit us one afternoon and it meant so much to us. Again, due to the virus, his carefully worked-out plan got skewed and he is working on a new one. He will stay in Fort Collins and hope to get a foot in the door with the State Forest Service and or the University itself.
He has a serious girlfriend who is hoping to get into medical school so the outcome of that will no doubt influence his future.

Congrats to youR grandson! Such a worthy and vital field of study, never more so needed than now. In that field it seems to me he’s well positioned for a good job, as the country, and especially the younger generation, turns toward a more sustainable and green future. A future of hope for the planet at long last!
