If you had to give up one of your five senses, which would you most hate to lose—and why?
This is a difficult question to answer. There are reasons I enjoy all of my senses. I love listening to music and hearing my daughter quietly talk to herself when she’s going to bed. I love hearing my husband jam out to Taylor Swift while we are going for a drive. I can’t imagine not having those in my life. However, I do know a good amount of sign language so I know I could still communicate with some people if they learned. Without sight, I wouldn’t be able to watch my favorite movies or my daughter grow up. I wouldn’t see how she matures and becomes a grown woman throughout the years. She wouldn’t be able to show me her artwork that she is so proud of. Without taste, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy my favorite foods. Same without my sense of smell. Physical touch is my love language. I would find it difficult if I couldn’t feel the touch of my husband or when my daughter lightly touches my face when we snuggle. I guess if I had to give one up, I would give up my sense of smell. It wouldn’t be enjoyable but it has the least amount of negatives to go along with it. Maybe it would be nice to not be able to smell my daughter’s dirty diapers. She can definitely make a stink.
