I'm in the second semester of my junior year in university. I'm majoring in Women and Gender Studies with a minor in Human Services. This semester I overloaded myself with 18 credits to ensure that I graduate next spring. While the work load is completely mental, I love each of my professors and their classes. Everyone who gave me advice when I was in my first years of university were completely right when they told me that as soon as I settled into my major program university would be incredibly enjoyable.
When I graduate from university, I hope to find a wonderful job somewhere in the helping professions. Ultimately I desire to work in crisis counseling, working with women who have been victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. I am really passionate about people and helping people. I've always loved getting to know the people around me and working to help empower them to work on their situation in life.
Other than career aspirations, I also hope get married after I graduate from college. I currently have a wonderful partner who is no longer in college and has been working toward his career for the last three years. There is no one in this world I could imagine getting along with better. We're both very similar to one another and we just love being around one another. We travel a lot, and we both desire to have a family someday in the next couple of years. When I consider it, I think I would be truly devastated if we were to end our relationship.
In two months Z and I will be molding our lives into one and putting our lives together. We've signed a lease in a wonderful apartment community here in town, and we're extremely excited to have one another around daily. We will be bringing my two cats along with us, and I can't wait to have stories of our little family unit doing family type things. We also have quite a few of travel plans for the next year, and I can't wait to share photos and stories of our travels throughout the year.
I'm very excited for this 365 Day project and I can't wait to see how my life changes in the next transitional year.
