Hans got his name because he was shy in a his big family. He would lay outside the puppy pile, so he was called Han Solo, which turned into Hans after my son's family got him.
He is fairly big and somewhat overactive. Deb worked very hard to train him to be an accomplished dog. He has more education than any dog I ever knew but it didn't all stick. He just auditioned for a place to stay when his family travels - if they ever do that again. The dog tending place had the dogs in groups as a advantage over being in kennels and Hans didn't make friends well enough to be in a group.
They are grateful for communication from people/trees in the west.
I was going to describe the bark, smooth-ish when young, vertical ridges as they get older, deepening as the get even more old.. Bark is basically gray.

Love seeing these too. We had a dog named Hans, also. Hans Van James. I think there are very few dogs with that name, Hans.

I don't have a canine friend right now. Seeing your pets warms my heart. They are woman's best friends! Beautiful.
