Antibodies in These Foolish Things

The results are in, folks.
I was surprised to have them back today, but early this morning I got the message that I had test results, so I quickly opened up my medical app.
Lo and behold…
Negative.
I do not have any Covid-19 antibodies.
I was bummed for a little while, thinking that some of this mess could be answered. But honestly, there is NO answer to this. There seems to be no rhyme or reason.
I thought maybe I could provide some magical plasma to help others recover. I dreamed of being a hero or at least some kind of HELP. Alas, not today.
But there is always tomorrow.
There has to be a reason. There just has to be.

My understanding is that the antibody tests are often inaccurate and even if you test positive for them it may not mean you are immune. There is still so much we do not understand about Covid.

The latest tests have been shown to be pretty accurate, I believe. But yeah. There is so much unknown!

I find myself wishing I could have a mild case so I could donate to the convalescent plasma cause too, but I’m sure I have not had it.

Saw that on IG...I'm sorry. I'd love to know that I had antibodies, too...if for no other reason than peace of mind. But, alas. We socially distance on!

I’m glad you got the test. I also got sick this year, and though I strongly suspected it wasn’t Rona, now I’m even more certain since your results comes back negative. We had very similar symptoms at nearly the same time. Just another virus making the rounds, apparently.
