BAYSIDE - I and I
Born of two ideas with no plots.
Idea A:
Two best friends. A guy and a girl. Girl disappears.
That was all I had. A partial plot. I didn’t know where the girl went. I wrote two chapters when I was around 17 years old.
Idea B:
An assassin society rooted in balance and justice. They’re a myth, like the Illuminati.
I start writing the origin story at my best friend’s birthday party when I was 13 years old, while everyone else was dancing to early 2000’s rap. That was all I had. A partial concept. No plot, whatsoever.
At 18 years old, I started my first mentally draining relationship. My first long term relationship. My first live-in boyfriend. By the end of it, I had barely written in the two and a half years.
When the relationship finally fell by the wayside, the first thing I knew I had to do was start writing again.
And just like that, before reading any of my old works in progress or putting pen to paper, these two separate ideas popped into my head and I realized how, combined, it told a whole story. It wasn’t a half-thought concept or an almost plot. It was a story. A beginning, a middle and an end.
Most importantly, it was a starting point.
Thus began my journey. One day, this one will end and another will start.
Cheers to that day.
Thanks for reading.
