MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK - Can’t Finish What You Started
I’m terrible at finishing things. Even as a kid, my diaries were sporadic. Half written and thrown on my cluttered bookshelf and replaced with a new notebook. The online diary I kept in my teens was easier to keep up with but there were months and even a couple years between periodic spurts of constant writing.
When the “writing tips” pages tell to use a writing journal, they always say “write everyday”. For me, that just isn’t realistic. I get caught up in the idea that I’m not doing anything right, because I’m not following their advice verbatim.
I’ve started to cut myself some slack. I had to write my own map, after all.
I cannot set myself a deadline or a schedule. What I can do is promise to try to keep up with this. I want to keep up with this.
