Love is no good for us. in Daily thoughts

It’s occurred to me, just moments ago, that love is no good for me. My first relationship is where I was given love. This new relationship is where I give it. But love to me seems now only a thing you can give. Taking it, or being given it, it is as if a gift we cannot really fathom, not really experience. We see actions, we feel touch, and whatever else our interactions with a lover might bring. But the feeling that wells in their chest when they see us, the devotion in which they carry out each task that they believe will make us happy, the pure subconscious way we float at the forefront of their minds when going grocery shopping- seeking things we’d like.
We do not get those. We miss them. When one loves, you are constantly giving, compromising, and at a loss to your self. Selflessly. We are thankful for love when we have it, when it may live and grow. We feel lucky. Maybe some people have figured out love where they can not loose and still give. However, to me, that is not how love is manifesting in me. It is about giving and giving more.
