Yes, I have been on a roll with hitting museums. I’ on a mission to go to as many as I can, even though I’ve been to most of them before. These are from the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.

The reason these turtles have numbers painted on their shells to track which mother the hatchlings came from. For some reason I thought seeing them with the numbers painted on was interesting.

They have a butterfly wing you can walk through and it’s pretty cool.

There are also a few birds hanging out in the butterfly wing. I was quite taken with this little green one. I thought it was super cute.

And now, moving on. This is a gray rat snake.

.
This one is NOT a snake! It’s a European legless lizard. And it was quite active, constantly on the move.

Black throat monitor. This thing was HUGE!

OK, so if snakes and lizards aren’t your thing, I’ll end with this one of a goose. This was not actually at the nature museum. It was nearby. When I was on my way over there I saw this goose walking across an icy pond.

Florida has legless lizards, too. We call them "Glass Snakes" because they break easily. Completely harmless but they still look like a snake!

I love all of it. I would have joked and said they were racing turtles!

I love the goose, we dont get many wild geese here, or frozen ponds either really...
