Hello everyone, and special thanks to Liebe for inviting me back. I can’t believe I’ve been absent for so long from this site, but six years ago I had just lost my mom to cancer, and was fighting my own battle as well.
Happy to say I’m still here and so far NED (no evidence of disease). Other updates to my life the past six years:
2014 Underwent chemotherapy for breast cancer; Mom passed; youngest daughter divorced her childhood sweetheart (after 12 years together) due to him cheating with a best friend :-(; I transferred to a new clinic at work.
2015 My FIRST granddaughter GRACE was born; I then married my high school sweetheart! Spouse #4 for each of us! <gasp>; sold my condo in Scottsdale following the financial debacle that was 2014; after 5 years with Banner Health I quit and decided to take a year off - a much needed respite!
2016 Finished all hormone blocking treatment (stopped early due to side effects); started a new job as a Practice Administrator at another healthcare company, this time managing two healthcare centers; bought a house in a 55+ community in Gold Canyon, AZ.
2018 Second grandaughter JUNE was born! I am blessed! AlsotTurned 62 and semi-retired, which means I am still working part-time at a great job that was created just for me, and I’m collecting SS benefits!
2019 Still working part-time and loving it! Still hiking mountain trails and loving it! Finally made some awesome friends in the park where we live, and we now have an awesome social life!</gasp>
Happy to be here, and also still contribute to my blog at sheriackerthawthorne.com (on Weebly). When I have time I will read up many of your entries, and here’s to an awesome 2020 for each of us!
