It’s attributed to Tim Allen - I assume the comedian who had the This Old House rip off show. I believe he is quite political. I haven’t really read it yet but I’ve decided I believe it. I’ve decided I am no longer a liberal or a Democrat. I am now a Republican. I will no longer support or vote for any Democrats. I may stop voting. I will pretend but I won’t do it. I’ve decided I’ve been wrong my whole life. I will no longer give Democrats any money and I will no longer give them credit for the good things in our lives.

So there. How’s that for a new beginning? It’s like giving up wheat. It will make me a better - or maybe just different person. When I get political phone calls I’ll just tell them I’m a Republican and they can move on down their lists.

If being a Republican makes me happy and a better person, then I will try to be a Christian too. I’ve tried being a Christian before and it hasn’t worked out but maybe if I am a Republican first the Christianity will make more sense.

Ok, here is Tim Allen’s (or whoever’s) takes on why we need to love our president and support him for four more years.

IN BOLD FACE
TIM ALLEN - ON TRUMP …
Whatever your feelings for Trump, these are some interesting points that Tim Allen makes. Put your hatred aside and think about these observations.
Tim Allen is credited with writing this.
From :Tim Allen
Here are some interesting points to think about prior to 2020, especially to my friends on the fence, like moderate Democrats, Libertarians and Independents and the never Trump Republicans and those thinking of “walking away” from the Democratic party.
Women are upset at Trump’s naughty words – they also bought 80 million copies of 50 Shades of Gray.
Not one feminist has defended Sarah Sanders. It seems women’s rights only matter if those women are liberal.
No Border Walls. No voter ID laws. Did you figure it out yet? But wait… there’s more.
Chelsea Clinton got out of college and got a job at NBC that paid $900,000 per year. Her mom flies around the country speaking out about white privilege.
And just like that, they went from being against foreign interference in our elections to allowing non-citizens to vote in our elections.
President Trump’s wall costs less than the Obamacare website. Let that sink in, America.
We are one election away from open borders, socialism, gun confiscation, and full-term abortion nationally. We are fighting evil.
They sent more troops and armament to arrest Roger Stone than they sent to defend Benghazi.
60 years ago, Venezuela was 4th on the world economic freedom index. Today, they are 179th and their citizens are dying of starvation. In only 10 years, Venezuela was destroyed by democratic socialism.
Russia donated $0.00 to the Trump campaign. Russia donated $145,600,000 to the Clinton Foundation. But Trump was the one investigated!
Nancy Pelosi invited illegal aliens to the State of the Union. President Trump Invited victims of illegal aliens to the State of the Union. Let that sink in.
A socialist is basically a communist who doesn’t have the power to take everything from their citizens at gunpoint … Yet!
How do you walk 3000 miles across Mexico without food or support and show up at our border 100 pounds overweight and with a cellphone?
Alexandria Ocasio Cortez wants to ban cars, ban planes, give out universal income and thinks socialism works. She calls Donald Trump crazy.
Bill Clinton paid $850,000 to Paula Jones To get her to go away. I don’t remember the FBI raiding his lawyer’s office.
I wake up every day and I am grateful that Hillary Clinton is not the president of the United States of America.
The same media that told me Hillary Clinton had a 95% chance of winning now tells me Trump’s approval ratings are low.
“The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people’s money.”— Margaret Thatcher
Maxine Waters opposes voter ID laws; She thinks that they are racist. You need to have a photo ID to attend her town hall meetings.
President Trump said — “They’re not after me. They’re after you. I’m just in their way.”
Read that again.
Pass along these truths!

woman in the moon September 07, 2019

Some of this I'm having a little trouble swallowing but I'm still gulping.

woman in the moon September 07, 2019

Stopping voting won't be enough. I will have to vote a straight Republican ticket. I'm not sure I can do that. I will have to think about it some more.

woman in the moon September 07, 2019

I wonder if you have to read something to believe it. I don't think so. The desire, the act of the will is enough. The Bible does not have to be read, it has to be believed. There. Carved in stone. The truth.

Jinn September 08, 2019

A lot of this I don’t believe at all . Socialism is not the same as Communism and I wish Republicans would quite pushing that falsehood . If it was , Canada , NZ , Scotland, Ireland , Norway, and England are all Communists . Venezuela did not fall because of socialism , it fell because of a corrupt dictator and a corrupt government who did not use their money to provide the services it promised. AOC is nuts but some of her ideas have some sense to them. The Green Plan does not have to be so extreme to make a positive difference. Tim Allen is a multimillionaire which means under Trump he is probably paying less tax than you and I . A lot of Republican are constantly worried that government is going to give something away ; “ That I worked hard to get .” Why is that ? Few things in this country are free but almost anything can be bought if you have enough money and if you are rich . If you are rich it hardly matters if what you do is illegal, you can pay your way out of prosecution. Reading “ Shades of Grey” , which was a moronic book , is not in any way comparable to grabbing some women by their —-. I want and believe that we need a Universal Health Care program , free public college , relief from student debt , a universal income is a great idea too . A thousand a month would only stimulate our economy ; not discourage people from working but Republicans seem to feel very threatened that there might eventually be more class equality, instead of ten percent of the population controlling 90 percent of the wealth as it is now. All of those millionaires and billionaires enjoy class privilege ( not just white class ) and have no business preaching to anyone about it.

DeadAir Jinn ⋅ September 09, 2019

Canada the UK, ireland, are basically communist. It depends on how you define what communism is though. Loss of personal freedom? yep. No personal Liberty, yep. Theft in the form of mass taxation without representation or accountability? yep. No freedom of speech yep.

Venezuela fell 100% because of socialism. Do a quick google search for then chavez nationalized the oil industry. It killed foreign investment. No foreign investment = no jobs, = hyper inflation.

Jinn DeadAir ⋅ September 09, 2019

If Chavez made the decision made the decision to nationalize the oil industry then it wasn’t socialism that did Venezuela’s economy , it was Chavez . a corrupt dictator and his government . What he did caused the failure of socialism in that country , not the system that failed the country .

DeadAir Jinn ⋅ September 10, 2019

So... according to you... socialism isn't the problem, its the people who administer socialism that is? Chairman Mao, Joseph stalin, modern day china etc etc. Socialism never works. Its an ideological dream of a perfect world where everyone gets along and everyone has a equal share. Except human beings don't work that way, personal merit and freedom don't work that way. They are messy in application. and not everyone deserves an equal share or good healthcare or a detached home. Life is unkind and its engineered to be that way. All socialism does is create more and more regulations that prevent people from succeeding and finding happiness.

Jinn DeadAir ⋅ September 10, 2019

“ Life is unkind and it’s engineered to be that way “? Seriously ? Life can be unkind but we should NEVER settle for that to be the status quo . Those dictators you referenced were Communists , not Socialists . Communism never works ; it Always ends up grossly corrupt .
I disagree with your statements ; everyone does deserve a good education, a fair wage, free medical care and a decent home. Those should be basic human rights in a country like ours. Giving people an assist to help themselves will only expedite people's Success and happiness. When more money is in the hands of the consumers , they will spend more and the economy will be stimulated . When people are better educated, comfortable financially , pleased with their social situation and healthy , there is less crime and more quality of life. It doesn’t stop people from being ambitious , it gives them more incentive to try to achieve more because they have more chance of a positive outcome without risking everything .

DeadAir Jinn ⋅ September 11, 2019

You are contradicting yourself now.

And what makes you think you (or anyone else) gets a say in weather life can be unkind? You don't get to decide what the "status quo" is, nobody does. Fate and circumstance do that. Personally, I feel I deserve a career in Hollywood, a detached home with a 2 car garage and children who excel at sports. But if I don't do anything to make that a reality, Do I really deserve it? No, of course not. Should money be taken from you or your family to help make my dream a reality? Absolutely not.

Socialism is just communism-lite. And if you study human behavior at all you can see it just a matter of time until those in power go down the slippery slope to take away what few rights people have, and one becomes the other. Canada has always been a socialist nation, and look at it or even the UK today. There is no freedom of speech, there is no freedom of choice in health care. The people of the UK voted for independance and still the socialists in the EU have ignored the will of democracy. Under socialism You do what the government tells you. They provide an illusion of democracy. That is not something anyone should aspire to.

Jinn DeadAir ⋅ September 11, 2019

I think we will have to agree to disagree . I feel we can support socialistic programs like universal health care , free public college or tech training, assistance with finding decent housing even if it’s only offering tiny house communities, encouraging , assistance to find jobs with liveable wages , and much improved mental health care . Those things should be the top priority for us now .and how our tax money should be used.

woman in the moon Jinn ⋅ September 11, 2019

What happens to the people who cannot survive in a laissez-faire society?
Everyone needs help sometime and most of the time we receive it - from family, from the government, from a combination of sources.
It's not that black and white.
What would you like to do in Hollywood? I'd prefer NYC or Paris myself.

Raphael Tiriel Jinn ⋅ September 10, 2019

It was Vladimir Lenin that said the goal of socialism is communism. Socialism will always lead to a communistic dictator. I'll vote for Republican before I will vote for any Democrat. I think Trump is doing great. The government does not know how to run a business, and this is the issue with socialism, and if you study those that have tried socialism, they have failed. The goal of socialism is to fail so that the government can consume more power and make promises that are impossible to keep. Then, you are left with that communist dictator.

Jinn Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 10, 2019

I don’t know ; Canada, NZ, Australia , Norway, Denmark, France ,Scotland, and Ireland ; all seem to be thriving and they are socialists . :-)
Why do people fear socialism so ? Capitalism will continue to exist even if we had more Socialistic programs . The 10 percent might not be as rich but they would still have plenty . We just might finally look at our greatly flawed taxation system and correct the injustices . That would give us a good start on paying for those programs .

Raphael Tiriel Jinn ⋅ September 10, 2019

None of those countries are socialist. It's in the process of moving socialist. America was founded on the principle to keep government out of our lives. Social programs ruin the economy and cause inflation. Plus social programs is how socialism invades countries. Socialism does things slowly over time so generations do not notice to change happening. It needs to stop before people give all their rights away to the government. Be wary of things too good to be true. Evil always disguises itself as good. I'm disabled, and I see no injustice in the tax system. What Trump has done is working. Things also go up and down all the time.

I am disabled also and when I pay more tax than Amazon ; I am very unhappy with the tax and medical system. I do not have Medicaid .

Raphael Tiriel Jinn ⋅ September 10, 2019

Amazon does pay lots of taxes, so please look into that. Do you receive SSI or SSDI? I have Medicare advantage.

Jinn Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 10, 2019

SSDI . With Medicare I pay for .

Raphael Tiriel Jinn ⋅ September 10, 2019

I pay for Medicare and it's better than Medicaid.

Jinn Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 10, 2019

Seriously ? My Medicare only pays 80 percent with a $300.00 yearly deductible. It costs $200.00 a month .

Raphael Tiriel Jinn ⋅ September 11, 2019

Can you get Medicare Advantage because I do not have a deductible, but I pay about like, I think $150-$180 a month for it. Why is Medicare part B costing you $200 a month? Why is your deductible more than a $185?

Jinn Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 11, 2019

Not sure but it does. Luckily I do not have any serious health concerns or take any daily prescription medications. I forgo seeing a doctor as much as possible because I do not want to accrue the bills . It’s a conscious choice to gamble with my health but our terrible medical system frightens me more than illness :-(

Raphael Tiriel Jinn ⋅ September 11, 2019

A government takeover of the healthcare system would destroy our healthcare system. Canada, England, and all the countries where the government has control over the healthcare system are failing. Canadians and people from European countries come here for treatments. Try and get Medicare Advantage if you can get this year during the sign-up period. I would call Medicare and ask them why you are being screwed cause you be paying around $134 a month.

Jinn Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 11, 2019 (edited September 11, 2019)

Not totally accurate. Of course huge Socialistic healthcare systems like those struggle , but I have friends in those places and they have few complaints . They are very grateful that they don’t have a healthcare system like ours. Only very wealthy people from those countries come here for care and they can afford to pay for the best, in cash. You pay thousands here for minimal services and average to unacceptable care. I know from personal experience. I had expensive personal insurance , was injured and I experienced that . The care I got almost paralyzed me .No way do the services any of them provide here are worth what they expect you to pay for it . It would be difficult for us to change now as most of our doctors are used to becoming millionaires in a short amount of time. The hospitals, clinics, labs and other medical service providers are making astronomical profits. The government has allowed the medical system to legally rob us for the last 25 years. The public barely noticed until insurance became unaffordable for the working class . In socialistic countries the medical services are not allowed to inflate their pricing the way they do here . More than half the time you do not even know what you going to get charged until after the fact. Also the charges vary wildly from place to place, as does the quality of care :-( A lot of our physicians will not even see Medicaid clients so they are forced to depend on walk in services and ERs for care , where they Have to wait long hours and then are given poor treatment .They don’t much care for Medicare clients either. That is our medical system.
I do plan to call Medicare as I never checked into it before. The Medicare is automatically deducted from my check and I assumed it was correct :-(

Raphael Tiriel Jinn ⋅ September 11, 2019

I very much disagree, and I have friends that live in Canada too who fill the same.

https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/bacchus-barua-/canada-health-care_b_9646872.html

It is the insurance companies that cause a rise in the price. There is a solution to this other than the government taking control. Do you the government to be your daddy? You will have to ask permission and wait to see the doctor, and the government will be able to drop any medication that they feel necessary. I have seen it happen many times with a friend of mine that is on SSI and has Medicaid. You do not want the government in control of the healthcare system because the wait will be ridiculous. I will always stand against the increase of government power over the people. The government does not know what is best. No, in socialism, the plan medication and vaccines and when they are out, then tough luck. You don't want socialism. I have not ever met anyone from an actual socialists country say, "Give me more socialism." No, socialism will always lead to communism, and communism will lead to death. I hope all goes well when you call Medicare and you have to call the SSA too.

Till heart's bewitched, till senses reel:
With Satan I have struck my deal.
He chalks the signs, beats time for me,

Jinn Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 11, 2019

I do not think it would be like that . It’s not that way in Canada , England, Ireland, Scotland , or NZ . They go and get in right away unless it’s just routine.
The insurance companies do not tell doctors, hospitals etc what to charge . They do limit what they will pay for though and even though you might pay big premiums , you may end up with a big out of pocket bill . When charges were more reasonable then insurance companies paid more . Not so today . The insurance companies make their premiums exorbitant and yet when you read the plan ; it will only cover catastrophic events . That is where we are today . One bad illness and you will end up losing everything you own. At least for many of us ; that is a real fear .

Raphael Tiriel Jinn ⋅ September 11, 2019

My insurance plan is not like that. The most I pay for out of pocket is a $45 medical visit. Not all insurances are the same, and yes, all the government healthcare going down the drain. If you get cancer in those countries, you are screwed.

A study conducted by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine concluded that around 750 patients a month – one in 28 – pass away due to subpar quality of care, which includes "inattentive monitoring of the patient’s condition, doctors making the wrong diagnosis, or patients being prescribed the wrong medicine." In other words, patients needlessly die as a result of the incompetence of the NHS.

https://www.dailywire.com/news/14470/7-things-you-need-know-about-britains-failing-aaron-bandler

You think it will be positive, but it will not be a positive experience. The first five years will be great, but after the first five years, everything will go down the drain. There will be rationing, and your taxes will go up and up and up. Inflation will rise like you have never seen before and you will be telling yourself that you wished that you never wished for this to happen. To me, the Democratic Party has its eyes set on obtaining power and destroying America and its values.

Other factors that lead to unnecessary deaths include NHS hospitals not informing other hospitals about terrible workers and the NHS' bad habit of sacrificing patient care to cut back on costs: (H/T: Forbes)

Jinn Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 12, 2019

All of that is happening here already . Our quality of care has declined dramatically . Hospitals are grossly understaffed, you go to see a Dr and you get his APN or PA because that way they can bill twice as many patients that way. In the meantime you are seeing someone with much less knowledge and ability to order what you need. At the bedside hospitals understaff purposely . No one to give baths, turn , or feed bedridden patients ; they depend on families and if you have none, you are in trouble. I have seen people go without baths for days. Medical errors are at an all time high and so is insurance , Medicare, and Medicaid fraud . You need to check every hospital bill carefully because without a doubt you will be billed for things that were not given or did not happen. You need to make sure medical coding is correct or insurance can refuse to pay period. Our medical system is horrendous but most don’t realize it until they are in trouble.

Raphael Tiriel Jinn ⋅ September 12, 2019

I agree that our system is not perfect, but don't trade it in for something worse and will lead to horrible things. I do not think that this is going to get us anywhere. Our perspectives are quite different, and, at the moment, I do not see anything positive taking place. I hope you look deeper into things someday.

Jinn Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 12, 2019

:-) I don’t think we are going to get Universal Health Care in my lifetime but maybe someday .

Raphael Tiriel Jinn ⋅ September 12, 2019

I sure hope not because that will be the beginning of the end of America.

Jinn Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 12, 2019

I understand your concerns , I don’t think you will have to worry about it :-)

Raphael Tiriel Jinn ⋅ September 12, 2019

Oh no, there is a huge worry. People who value socialism always think they can get it right, but they don't ever get it right because power, just like money, corrupts. I won't ever be for it, there are alternative ways, and there will be a Civil War before socialism takes over--in my opinion.

Jinn Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 12, 2019

I agree that power corrupts. That has been proven in history over and over again :-(

Raphael Tiriel Jinn ⋅ September 13, 2019

Then what you advocate makes no sense. You are just repeating the cycle.

Jinn Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 13, 2019

Possibly ? :-)

Raphael Tiriel Jinn ⋅ September 13, 2019

Nope, that is that the fact. If you hate America and values so much, then live in the socialistic country of your choosing. If the left passes any major socialistic policy, then America will be faced with a Civil War.

Jinn Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 13, 2019

Who said I hate America or it’s values. I am sure I never wrote that . I think the government is corrupt and I am quite sure more than half the American public agrees with me . The answer to solving a country’s problems is not to run away from it , but be willing to try to improve it . I highly doubt it will change but that does not mean I should give up on it or anticipate civil war . Sheesh !

Raphael Tiriel Jinn ⋅ September 14, 2019

The government is corrupt, yes. What you are proposing gives those government officials more things to corrupt. So, your solution is to provide the corrupt government more power. Am I right on this?

woman in the moon Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 13, 2019

What are these American values that are threatened by national healthy care?

Raphael Tiriel woman in the moon ⋅ September 14, 2019

We rebelled against a government that controlled us. Why are you so will give America all your health care rights? Hmmm, maybe one day, they will say that Social Security is not going to work unless people die. Not having enough to go around means that people will die. So our solution is that no one lives past 60 years old. They will control, your meds which will be planned ahead time, and if the government runs out of your medication, then oops. It is the government intrusion, it will hurt the economy and send us massively into debt. $27 trillion spent in one year. All of our taxes are going to go up, and it may seem just a little at first, then your taxes will go up and up and up until you cannot afford anymore. Then, the government owns you because all your money is now their money. What Democrats support, will ruin the economy so bad that you'll be begging them for food. Worst idea ever!

woman in the moon Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 14, 2019

In other words, our American values are to work, earn money, save it and then pass it on as we see fit. Many of us inherit money from parents who did this, and we hope to retain wealth in the family. I get this. I find medical costs the main threat to holding on to any accumulated wealth. Personally. That's why I even bring the subject up.

Raphael Tiriel woman in the moon ⋅ September 14, 2019

American values are individualism, equality, materialism, science and technology, progress and change, work and leisure, competition, mobility, and volunteerism. I haven't inherited anything from my parents, and I don't know if I will. I do not care if I inherit anything at all. Alexander the Great had his hand left out of the casket to symbolize that he was born into this world with nothing and will leave this world with nothing. Of all the American values, materialism is the most pointless one. There are ways to get things done. Medicare for all makes no sense, especially if you believe the government is corrupt. Why give a corrupt government more power? There are better ways and better ways have been proposed. If all your money is going to taxes, then you won't have anything to passed down either. There are ways and possibly programs, maybe charities that will help.

woman in the moon Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 12, 2019

America's end began at its beginning.
Our virtues are out weaknesses. The US is rich and ambitious and has technology and education. We made the first atomic bomb and we were the first to use it. Our medicine is top of the world and we have to pay for it. The internet is ours too. Gates and Zuckerberg etc set the path for the whole world. We draw the best people from other countries who have always helped us be the best, strongest, most dangerous, most entertaining, etc. to the max. Thus we, or someone, has to pay. Every day.

Raphael Tiriel woman in the moon ⋅ September 12, 2019

Everything that begins does have an end, but socialism will be the worse end. I favor the elimination of money; it is fake and just a form of control. Like I've said there are other solutions than making it worse on everybody.

woman in the moon Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 12, 2019

How do you plan to replace money?
From each according to their means?
To each according to their needs?

Raphael Tiriel woman in the moon ⋅ September 13, 2019

You just eliminate it. The only that you think you need it is that those in power make you believe that you need it. Money is created out of nothing, and then, interest is charged to it. The system makes no sense except for perpetual debt. Money is the problem, so why not just eliminate and create a resource economy. An economy that would be like the Venus Project without the mind control inserted into society.

Jinn Raphael Tiriel ⋅ September 12, 2019

Raphael Tiriel Jinn ⋅ September 11, 2019

Oh, with Medicaid, you have to wait for the government to permit you to see the doctor. If you go to any doctor without authorization, then you are responsible for the entire bill. You may have to wait three days to a week for that permission.

Edited

Did I say I see him as bad? I do, but that's why I want to try to understand why reasonable people see him as good. But let's try.
1. I dislike the way he treats women, people of color (any color) and handicapped people.
2. I dislike his behavior with other heads of state. The handshakes, the insults, and the disrespect.
3. I do not like what he has done and continues to do with tariffs. He is disturbing things that were ok in the first place. I worry about my Chinese slave being put out of work.
4. I do not believe he is an intellectual of any stripe. I do not respect his family origin, his education, or his business life.
5. I dislike the way he personally treated Hillary Clinton. She deserved better than 'Lock her up."
6. He has no pets and I never see him with his grandchildren. I see both as indications of a lack of humanity.
7. I was only slightly aware of his TV show - I haven't had tv since my husband died in 2003. I did not know The Apprentice was on network tv for 17 years or whatever. When I went to youtube to see a clip of it.... he was announcing that someone was fired. I've been fired, I know others who have been fired. I do not see that as entertainment. I also think firing people is hard on the person doing the firing. Again, no pleasure, no entertainment. Pure misery.
8. I dislike his family life/history. I managed to stay married to the same man and I assume others can do it too. (I know that is harsh and insensitive, but just the same.
9. I'm really unhappy with the environmental things he advocates. I hate funds cutting to parks, schools, - oh you get the picture.
10. I dislike that he has retained control of his business interests and continues to promote and probably profit from them.
11. I wish he had revealed his income tax records. No one would have understood them, but it's a tradition that presidential candidates do that. It's another way in which he makes his own rules.
12. I do not like the way he handles weather or shooting disasters. He seems to lack the most basic human empathy. It's all about him, how well the victims of disasters treat him.
13. I am really unhappy about the large increase in the budget deficit - our debt has increased by over a trillion dollars - due to tax cuts and increases in military and other non-social spending.

ok that's it for a while.
Give me some good news please. Some reasons to like the man.
I can give you a start.
1. He has not started any big wars.
2. The economy is doing fairly well.
3.

Raphael Tiriel woman in the moon ⋅ September 11, 2019

For the first one, I cannot judge someone until I met them in person. I can get some idea of the person, but until I meet them, I cannot agree with anything that you said about that. I have seen any evidence to suggest otherwise.

I am cool with behavior, he is himself, and I admire a person who is himself. Politicians have screwed America up so much that someone needed to come in there is the voice the words that need to say to them. He is not there to be a good boy. The people that voted for him want our country back, and big government out before it gets out of control.

I am not one for seeing anyone as a slave. Everyone is equal in my eyes. I'm not very pro tariffs, either, but he does want China to stop its BS, and a lot of people agree. If China doesn't want to make a deal, then that's a consequence that they will have face along with us. It is something that has to be done, unfortunately. If I have to choose China or America as the new world power, I will choose America.

Number four, I would have to meet them in person. Appearances and what we are shown can be deceiving. From what I see, yeah, he's an asshole, but he is the asshole that gets shit done, most of the time most in odd ways, and keep socialism away.

From what I've researched, Hillary should be locked up and given a trial date, but that is my opinion.

I haven't met the guy so I can't say anything about where he spends his time on or off-camera and that is his choice.

I didn't even care for his show.

The Democrats have admitted that the New Green Deal was a way to introduce socialism to America. Democrats are using the environment to take control of the government and our lives. A majority of what Americans are being told about the environment is a lie. An ice age begins this year, so if you live up north, please buckle up.

To each their own.

I'm cool with him still owning his business.

I don't care about his tax returns. He has a right to his privacy.

What exactly was mishandled with shootings or disasters?

The debt doesn't really matter and America has like 200 trillion in assets, so the debt is not that big compared to what America is worth. If you researched how money was created then you would why it does not really matter and that is that money is created out of thin air and charged interest. Money is debt because debt creates money. A reduction in debt would mean a reduction in money. The value of money is based on faith. You have faith in money by spending it.

World War III is coming, but it will happen after Trump has left the presidency. Yes, he knew what he was doing with the economy, and America is booming.

He is keeping his promises

The wall is being built is very important, and he dealing with illegal immigration.

He fired John Bolton or he no longer works which I'm glad.

He sees through the bullshit and gets the job done to the best of his ability.

He is keeping our second amendment right (the most important right because it secures all of our rights).

He is for less government

He stands up for us, instead of bowing down to foreign powers.

I could go on and on but I can’t define my opinions as either Democrat or Republican. I identify more with being an Independent.

Lots to think about! Thanks for sharing.

This is the one that irks me: How do you walk 3000 miles across Mexico without food or support and show up at our border 100 pounds overweight and with a cellphone?

Such an ignorant definition of poverty.

I also find the extreme right's understanding of 'socialism' so limited and ignorant.

ConnieK September 08, 2019

I don't know if it originated with Tim Allen, and I simply do not have time to pick this apart line by line. I think what Charis said proves out that many if not most of these statements are the usual GOP move: surround a lie with a few truths and get people to accept the whole as truth. So let me address the one that irked me:

"Not one feminist has defended Sarah Sanders. It seems women’s rights only matter if those women are liberal."

No woman defended Sanders because she never answered questions directly and had no problem repeating lies. JMO

I'm voting a straight blue ticket for the next 10 years to send a message to the GOP: learn to compromise or die a slow death.

gattaca September 08, 2019

I have given up on politics in this country entirely, in fact on the entire planet.
I have decided that I am going to be an acolyte for the Star Wars Galactic Empire.

Marg September 08, 2019

Were you joking with this?

woman in the moon Marg ⋅ September 09, 2019

Not exactly. I am feeling bad about how things are. I cannot understand how Trump has so many supporters. I would like to figure out why so many people think he is doing a good job. We tend to like our officeholders. Rarely are they voted out. The last president who was not elected to a second term was the first president Bush in 1992 - and before him Hoover in 1932. So I am anticipating that Trump will be reelected. I'm just wondering why.

Marg woman in the moon ⋅ September 09, 2019

I think all of us over here are also wondering why - it’s a complete mystery!

Linda September 09, 2019

I’m a Democrat and will vote Democrat. Tim Allen’s essay is utter bullshit. I don’t know what to make of your post. It’s hard to believe that you buy into any of this crap. Satire? One can hardly tell nowadays.

woman in the moon Linda ⋅ September 10, 2019

I'm tired of defending myself. I would really like to know how Trump supporters justify their positions.
I'm going in circles.

Deleted user September 10, 2019

Perhaps people should think for themselves instead of listening to celebrities

Anaiss September 10, 2019

I sure hope your decision and reasoning are based on more than something a celebrity writes. I don't know how anyone can switch to the Republican party that supports what is going on in our White House, and the so-called Christian behavior they claim. But hey, it's your right. Politics has always been a controversial subject and way way way WAY more so in the last few years.

woman in the moon Anaiss ⋅ September 10, 2019

I'm really looking for reasons people support Trump. I haven't been shown any yet. I suppose that in itself says something.

Neogy Titwhistle September 10, 2019

Tim Allen was a failed drug dealer who narked out his friend to get out of a possible felony record. Plus, he's just not that funny.

woman in the moon Neogy Titwhistle ⋅ September 10, 2019

NIce of you to show up. We are old friends.

Neogy Titwhistle September 10, 2019

Oops, he does have a record. But he could have been imprisoned for life without being a snitch.

Jinn September 11, 2019

I thought from the beginning that this entry was what you said ; an inquiry into what people are thinking about Trump and also about the current issues of today . Nothing wrong with that in any way. I love a thought provoking entry . I marvel myself at Trump’s popularity . Evangelical Conservatives love him ( although he really only gives lip service to religion ) , Gun toting advocates for the NRA love him, Pro- Lifers Love him. The Rich Conservatives love him. Capitalists love him. Farmers semi- like him :-) (depends on what aid programs he pushes through) , the carbon based energy companies love him ( he could care less about the environment unless it’s a Trump resort :-) , and Corporations love him ( because sheesh, they pay no taxes. The very rich love him, they are legally entitled to use every tax loophole known to man . People who are frightened by illegal immigration like him. He talks about riding the government of corruption ( he has not done that yet but he talks about it ). Through Twitter he pushes his , “ I am just like you “ message to the masses and he promotes his, “ I will not be controlled” image to the public daily . He absorbs insults and ridicule daily and flaunts his “ I could care less” attitude daily . IMO he would never have been elected if people had not gotten so disappointed in the behavior and manipulations of the Democratic party and the Republicans could not seem to get behind any other candidate . There might have been some voting fraud too but who knows? Both sides do it and have for decades. It’s just easier to get caught now.
In the end I do not believe our government gives one care about what the American people think or want . The politicians buy their way into office with wealthy benefactors or personal wealth. They then tend to have to assuage their wealthy donors and rebuild / build their personal wealth. Either way it’s human nature to ensure one’s own prosperity and security first , Then consider the welfare of nameless nobodies . As far as the Elite class is concerned the majority of the people in this country matter only if they work and pay taxes for them to waste , do the labor the rich do not want to do , and as cannon fodder for their wars. They rule us and control 90 percent of the money . I suspect Many may protest publicly but secretly, he is their dream.

woman in the moon Jinn ⋅ September 11, 2019

Lots of wisdom in what you wrote here.
I have a hard time totally giving up on Government - I really believe it is a good thing, not totally but generally.

Jinn woman in the moon ⋅ September 11, 2019

I think we have to have government to prevent anarchy ; the rule of law although it’s often imperfect is better than chaos . I fear the breakdown of government but weeding out some of the corrupt people there would be positive .

Serin September 16, 2019

Well this has been a remarkable read. As a point of clearly negligible interest, snopes could find no evidence that this was posted by Tim Allen the actor.

NorthernSeeker September 17, 2019

It is good to have an open mind or reopen your mind to consider other positions. I take heart in your statement that overall you are still a liberal. Fascinating discussion by everyone. I'm never good at sorting out the truth when there are two opposing positions. Clarifying the intermingled issues helps somewhat but in the end I'm stuck with deciding what I want to believe and who I like instead of what I know. I don't vote for people I don't like and who aren't the best fit for my core values.

NorthernSeeker September 17, 2019

Now more than ever I doubt that what I read is the truth. Shock is used as a tactic to overwhelm honestly felt and believed values. It is disheartening to be confounded again and again by contradictory 'facts". I hate it when something is the truth and nothing but the truth but not the WHOLE truth.

This is an interesting topic for discussion. Personally, I am always neutral about everything that does not concern me. Now we need to be careful about posting and stories. Social media is a powerful information channel. I regularly buy quality accounts from this company https://accfarm.com/buy-instagram-accounts Currently, creating an account from scratch can be too time consuming and painstaking. This is why buying an Instagram account with followers and posts is a great idea. Maybe for someone it will be useful.

woman in the moon DavidParker ⋅ April 23, 2022

How did you find this entry? I'd forgotten about it, but wow, did people have a lot to say.
I incidentally have continued to vote a straight Democratic ticket and will as long as I can. God I hope we are through with Trump. I am not very optimistic about our government. My state, Iowa, is very RED and continues to do really dumb stuff. As I said, it's hard to be optimistic.

DavidParker woman in the moon ⋅ April 26, 2022

This is an interesting topic indeed. I am far from politics, but now is a time when it is difficult to turn a blind eye to what is happening.
