Mid afternoon, the Pulmonary doctor called. The cancer had not metastasized to my brain, nor did my brain show any sign of any senior diseases. His Words. Normal he said.
After chatting with him for a moment, I sat out in the coolness of the Patio and said “Thank you, thank you thank you…and I am still saying it..”

We knew there was a rainstorm coming . I went out and partied myself silly. In the morning, lifeguards going by on their boards tapped on my window to wake me. I didn't wake up. When I finally woke, had coffee, and aspirin, one of the kids took that picture of me and the half drowned Volvo. My Sears prefab cottage was dry until an AH in a 4 wheel drive came byh at light speed and pushed a wall of water into the living room. My 10 color Datsun was in back and out of the water. It turned out my things were on the highest spot in the block. Everyone else lost their car, and the water was feet deep in their living rooms. Daughter Laka had expensive art texts floating by.
Most of the neighborhood got out and chased that 4x4. He hit the lifeguard unit at the end of the block. Then after turning left, he turned right into a dead end motel driveway. That neighborhood was never boring.
