There's Someone in Your House in Reading Journal

This was a YA thriller I read in a night, because insomnia makes you do stupid shit.

Okay. So, there’s a (typically gorgeous, this one’s Hawaiian) girl who did a stupid and had to leave Paradise and ALL HER FRIENDS to move to some inland high school with her grandma, meets and fucks Mr. Perfect, has perfect friends, and then Scream happens.

Yeah like the movie.

Yeah, total waste of my time.

There was a fun thread at one point about self-loathing (relative to the killer) but the author drops it and goes with the most standard reason of all time. Scream was actually better, and I almost never say that about the movie.

There’s no explanation for why the killer moves furniture and shit.

So, if you like cheap thrills and you read primarily YA, and you like “hookup culture” (seriously the character bangs her Mr. Perfect twice, but is nervous about calling him her boyfriend or holding his hand - ) then there ya go, here’s a great summer read for you.

I’ll be looking elsewhere for my summer read.
