The day you left
was the worst day of my existence.
Days never really got better
just passed with not even
an ounce of sunlight
or warmth.
cold and bitter
like my soul,
I decided I needed change.
You loved my bed,
you said it was like sleeping
on a cloud,
so I threw away the mattress for
a rock hard bed that hurt my back.
You loved my long hair,
so I chopped it all off.
You said the gap between my teeth was beautiful
so i got braces to close it.
You loved my style so I threw all my clothes away
and bought new ones.
I put your t-shirts and pictures
in a box,
and stuffed it in the back of my closet
right next to the razors and the pills.
But nothing I ever did
stopped the constant feelings
the constant thoughts
the constant memories
from flowing through my head.
Till I put a gun to it
and pulled the
trigger.
