Unattainable in Adventures in paradise

Ergh, the days just get away from me. And I have three days off each week lol. I often think to myself after my second day off has passed, “OMG, I’d have to go back to work already!?”. It’s amazing how we adapt to what’s around us. Anyway, it’s been a good ‘weekend’.

Monday night was the movies. Vish texted me earlier in the day saying that New Farm cinemas wasn’t showing a 7pm session for the movie we wanted to see (what? It was last week!) so we had to change the venue and see it at Newmarket instead. Newmarket has really nice cinemas though so an even cheaper price, so it worked out well. The seats are all leather and spacious with automatic recliners and a tray. Five of us ended up going - Vish, James, Me, my friend Steve and Vish’s friend Mitch.
I’m always excited when I hear Mitch is attending something, as he is fiiiiiiiiiiiiiine. I think I’ve mentioned that before lol.
Unfortunately we don’t ever communicate unless it’s something with Vish, but he always seems to give a genuine and happy hug. I sat one one end next to Steve, with Mitch next to him and Vish and James further up. Because of the spaciousness of the seats, I actually had to text Vish to ask what he thought of the cinema, as leaning across to pretty much yell would have seemed a bit weird. He texted back he really liked them. I replied, “And this is the least-best of the three cinema options here.”

Anyway, the movie was cute. We saw ‘The Secret Life of Pets 2”, despite it being a kid’s film. Technically, Toy Story 4 was a kid’s film also, but meh, who cares. It was something to do and a bit mind-numbing so yeah. It was also Vish’s 30th birthday and he didn’t want to do much. I asked him if he was doing a dinner or anything since 30 was a pretty big deal, but he didn’t seem that interested.
I still haven’t bought him his present (something else I was suppose to do today) but I’m pretty sure I know what I want to get him. I walked by this shop in an arcade in the city that was full of shiny things that I think he might like. I’ve now told myself I’ll go tomorrow after work.

Today was spent doing boring adulting things, like booking my hire-car to get out to Pittsworth for my Grandma’s 90th birthday party in August, and then having to apply for that Saturday off work so I can actually go to it. I didn’t apply for the Sunday off though, as I want an excuse to come back home and I don’t like to waste more leave than I have to. I used 4 damn days of it when I was so sick recently so I need to be conscious of that happening again.

The washing machine is booked in again (4th time lucky!). I was surprised to see a missed-call from them on my phone considering the SMS I got from them told me the part order wasn’t arriving until late August! Thankfully that date must have been a mistake by two-months out. I was shocked when I originally got that SMS thinking I had to wait so long. Anyway, I rang them back and it’s booked in for next Thursday. Unfortunately they couldn’t do one of my days off but I requested an afternoon booking since I work til midday on Thursdays, but they can’t guarantee what time it’ll be. So I texted Phil and he said he can do a late shift so at least one of us will be home. I am PRAYING they have finally got the right part this time cos this is becoming a joke!

I don’t know what the fuck is going on with the top of my belly button. I’ve been Googling everything though, trying to find answers. It’s like the top right part right above my belly button has popped out, like bubble-wrap. I can even push it back in like one would with bubble-wrap. No pain, but like a grainy-type feeling beneath my finger as it pushes back in. As soon as I tense my abdomen, it pops back out again. If I lay flat, it’s normal.
Everything on Google is pointing toward “Umbilical hernia” but it must be a very mild case of it or something, because all the Google images coming up look way worse than what I have. Thankfully mine is barely noticeable. And most results are saying it mostly happens in pregnant woman and in babies, so yeah, I am incredibly confused as to why I first noticed this after walking home from drinking those 4 drinks in the early hours of Sunday morning.
I came across one Reddit or Quora post about a lady who seemed to have something similar but she had previously had a gall bladder removal, which is also a cause of umbilical hernia’s, but I’ve never had that procedure either. I don’t think I’m pregnant, like Tom suggested lol.
I did read that it can occur from heavy lifting though, but I though I’d been quite tame at the gym, especially since I haven’t even been able to lift the weights I used to. I have incorporated planking into my routine though, so I’m wondering if that has brought this one, since it tenses my core for up to a minute at a time (that’s the most I can do lol).
I’m really hoping the doctor can ease my mind on what this actually is and not be as clueless as he was the first time I saw him. I want to wait until next week though so that I can kill two birds with one stone.
I hope this work-week goes as fast as last week seemed to.

I’m off to Sydney in two weeks time, although I haven’t told Ryan yet. I tend to wait and see if he’s actually going to be around before doing so. If not, I’ll book somewhere to stay, if so I’ll stay at his. In which the latter case will involve me having Viagra-fueled hardcore sex, since he doesn’t have it any other way.
If it’s the prior, I’ll probably just wander around the Botanical Gardens and look at the flora and fauna and enjoy the Sydney Winter weather, which seems to be quite mild at the moment.
It’s been very nice here in Brisbane, with the days being around 24 degrees, which is actually perfect usually-Autumn weather. Sydney’s about 5 degrees cooler, but I know the wind just howls down the street in the area Ryan lives in, so I’ll be sure to rug up.
Oh and I’m sure I’ll pine over whatever Sydney-Luke is up to, somewhere else in that city unbeknownst to me, like I do every time I’m there. I’m such a loser lol. I had a thought today that even if he and I did ever hook-up, it would probably be as terrible as when I tried to talk to him at Arq during Mardi Gras lol - it went nowhere! And let’s face it - the amount of fantasies I’ve had over the years will never live up to real thing lol. It’s probably a good thing he seems unattainable.

He was right. All these signs of pregnancy you’ve been having 😂 All of our cinemas have recently changed to recliner seats it’s soo nice.

If it's a hernia, I wouldn't be surprised if it's because of how sick you've been. It'd make a lot of sense!

That did cross my mind, given I have throwing up so much, but why two weeks later?
Thanks.

I agree with B up there. I would see a doctor sooner rather than last second lol.
It's too hot on my side of the planet now and we're only in the 20s (celsius)

Thanks, yeah I prob should. I just don't wanna go in there and he's like, 'Err, you're wasting my time dude' lol.

I thought Canadian temperatures fluctuated more than a straight guy after a 6-pack? :P
